My question is this: if a woman’s body naturally rejects the zygote — even after only a few hours — should that be considered involuntary manslaughter? What if the zygote slips out of the fallopian tube and attaches to, say, the bladder or large bowel causing serious harm to the mother, who gets the state sanctioned protection? The bundle of cells or the fully grown human being?
