Dammit! Don’t make me go all misty this early on a Sunday morning!

  • Bob_Cesca

    You too?

Glad it wasn’t just me. 12:32pm is early on a Sunday MORNING? Aren’t you lucky?

  • lnbno13

    Ha! Timing.

Do we have some fellow Civil War history people here?

  • Nanotyrannus

Oh boy. I could probably join the Sons of Confederate Veterans. I was raised in Savannah. All my people are from central Georgia. I grew up playing at Ft. Pulaski, Fort McAllister and visiting Magnolia Springs for family reunions.Seeing that this morning was coincidental with something I was watching last night about the argument that still continues over flying the Confederate battle flag. It was just an odd coincidence for me.

I used to love it when we’d go see the “Battle of Perryville” when I was a kid, I’ve thought about taking my daughter this year. But to be clear, everything I know about the Civil War I’ve learned from public school and my own education. As much as I am fascinated and humbled by the era, I would be full of shit if I called myself a Civil War historian or any variation thereof.

Wow, Bob, very poignant.I love that song, “Ashokan Farewell,” and was playing it on my harp for patients this afternoon. Now, I’ll think of this when I play it again.Thank you.

Something that’s a little scary about this is the other videos you get guided to if you view the video directly on YouTube. I won’t spoil it; see for yourself.
