The Democratic Leadership Stands Up

The surge escalation didn’t work:

“No amount of White House spin can hide the fact that the escalation’s chief objective of political reconciliation remains unmet, Iraqis have not demonstrated any readiness to stand up and take responsibility for their own country, and 2007 was the most lethal year yet for American troops,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.

Hmm. The Democrats must be looking at Bizarro Iraq where the surge didn’t work, instead of looking at the real Iraq where the war is over and they’re throwing festive candy assortments at our soldiers.

It’s not often that Senator Reid makes me smile, but this is a really strong statement. I’m also glad to see he’s using the “escalation” word.

Why don’t they also pull some faces and say “Nanny nanny boo boo! Stick your head in doo-doo!” while they’re at it. I know this sounds relentlessly negative, but nowhere did it say what our Democratic “Leadership” is going to do about it. They just pointed out what everyone already knows. The only thing that will happen is 22 House Dems will offer up 128 different amendments that will be shot down easy by the rest of the House. The reasons? “We can’t leave our Beloved Troops unfunded” “It will be vetoed and we need this other legislation to pass” “My asshole hurts”They are so easily manipulated into position it’s frightening. I really wish they would just hunker down and not speak into a microphone until after they’ve been replaced.
