Fear Mongering

The president was just on the TV attempting to scare the shit out of you. Attacks worse than 9/11 are being plotted by the evildoers against YOU at this very moment. And if the House doesn’t pass telecom immunity, the terrsts will kill us all.

While I’m on this, shame on the Senate Democrats who voted for this bill. Empowering corporate malfeasance and enabling the president’s whiny fear mongering is one thing, but helping to destroy the Fourth Amendment is unforgivable. We didn’t work and fight for Democrats two years ago just so they could vote with the president on eavesdropping. Yesterday was a dark day for America.

Bob, this one issue has done so much toward crystalizing my anger and frustration toward BOTH parties. I was so happy to see the Democrats sweep in, in the 2006 mid-terms, to be immediately followed by tail-tucking and defensive posturing (with some notable exeptions).I am pissed that the Republican party still actively supports this fuck-stick president, his administration, and his policies without question and without noticiing the incredible damage he and they have done to this nation. Oh wait…authoritarianists! Forgot about that.I am pissed at the dems, on the other hand, because they are obviously not listening to the vast majority of public opinion, instead listening to what the right wing vomits about them instead. But this FISA/Telecom immunity issue…ARGH! Neither side of the aisle is succumbing to reason. Bush spouts FEAR FEAR FEAR and the dems cave. Goddammit.

I am so dissappointed to see Mikulski and Webb on that list. Mostly Webb. Bummer.

I’m not at all surprised to see Ken Salazar on this list. He’s been a continual disappointment. But I’m with you, midad. I’m surprised to see Webb’s name on that list.

Hey Bob,Just wanted to amend your list a little. You forgot Baucus (D-MT), Casey (D-PA), Conrad (D-ND), and Whitehouse (D-RI).

Stabenow is on your list but she voted “Nay.”

Here’s the rollcall from the Senate website.

And let’s not forget that Hillary Clinton skipped the vote… and MCain voted “Yea.”
