Wingnut ABP! Lie About Global Warming!

There must’ve been an e-mail blast APB that went out to all wingnuts. Think Progress:

Reuters reports that GM Vice Chairman Bob Lutz defended his previous remarks dismissing global warming as a “total crock of shit.” Lutz said his views had no bearing on GM’s commitment to build environmentally-friendly vehicles.

“Total crock of shit” is what factory workers said when GM shipped their jobs to Mexico. But okay. And then there’s Madame Chenella on global warming:

“It’s a largely unscientific hoax. And it’s a political concoction.”

And Tom Delay:

“there is no science to suggest that man is the cause of climate change.”

I understand that Republicans are against, you know, reading. But someone send Tommy a link to this.

    My representative, James Inhofe, is right in line with these right-wing responses and it drives me crazy. I’ve had short email exchanges with him after sending facts, but it’s obvious from his comments he too feels it’s all make-believe. Very frustrating.

    Global warming is a hoax, wrestling is real and providing free health care will make us all communists. I’m so glad it’s 2008.

    My sympathies, jmrunning3.I sat through his rantings during Al Gore’s Senate hearing on the environment (sings, “Bang, bang Boxer’s silver hammer…” well, I wished it then).Is it any wonder GM is in trouble? What a dignified response from one of its “leaders” (I use the term very loosely here).And why is Delay still running around free?

    Right on Bob, for posting a link to IPCC. In a previous life I worked at NCAR, and it would probably drive the right wingers off the cliff to discover that most of the scientists there at as conservative as it gets. Not politically, just in their thinking simply because not a single one of them wants to say global warming is largely man-made without having a huge ton of facts at hand.Same with NSIDC (Natl Snow and Ice Data Center) down the hill from NCAR. Ice is going to be gone.And since these scientists are so conservative, it’s more than likely that the changes will happen more rapidly than their models suggests.
