Lieberclinton for America

The more Senator Clinton remains in this race despite having no chance of winning the nomination on the square, the more I believe she’s planning to run as a Liebercrat — as a third party candidate just like her friend Joe Lieberman did.

There have been some rumblings about her running in 2012 against either a President McCain or, not surprisingly, a President Obama. This would appear to lend itself to all the compliments for Senator McCain — i.e. she’s now hoping Senator McCain will win, so she can run as a Democrat in 2012. But I don’t think that matters. She’ll either run in 2012 against whoever, or, what I believe she’s contemplating, she’ll run as a Liebercrat this year. Clap-clap-point-point-slash-burn-clap-nod-nod.

It sounds like what she’d be considering, but I’m willing to bet her funding would dry up completely in such a situation. Big Donors like to have Big Friends in Washington and on the off chance that Obama won the White House and we increased our majority in the Congress, The Clintons and their financial co conspirators in this farce would find themselves on the outside looking in for a very long time. I think the donors would run like hell from that possibility.

Or could she be contemplating a McCain/Clinton ticket? After all, he probably won’t last a full term, anyway.

Don’t depress yourself speculating about what she’s capable of. It’s like wondering whether or not your alcoholic spouse is going to get drunk and abusive tonight or some other time. The only way to survive is to keep on with your own life, doing the next right thing, and let the disfunctional member of your family find their bottom. And Hillary’s got a big bottom to find.

Bajasteve:Lol. I’ve been thinking about that too. McCain not making a full term. I mean, he looks like if you coughed too hard in his general direction, he’d crumble to dust. And you just know he’s mean as hell under all that “my friends” talk. I’m not talking just old and cranky mean. I’m talking DASTARDLY mean. Vile and wicked.I know he’s been through a hell I would never had been able to endure and that may explain his demeanor. And that would be understandable, if he wasn’t trying so hard to mask his rage. I feel like he’s always right on the verge of completely wigging out. It gives me the creeps!

Good points Sammy, but we’ve pretty much painted a picture of John McCain (myself included) as Navy Fighter Pilot, War Hero, Statesmen! and just assumed that all added up to Swell Guy.What if he’s always been an asshole?Just an ordinary, ornery, bitchy, asshole. That happens to have been a fighter pilot, a POW, a Senator, a Presidential candidate…

Hillary running as a third party candidate would be politicial suicide, in my opinion. Her possible run in 2012 is more plausible, but I think that if she dared to run outside of the Democratic Party, she’d be putting a noose around her neck.

I was speaking with a friend about this very topic the other day and predicted that if Obama won the nomination and subsequent general election, Clinton wouldn’t have a chance in 2012 and seeing her Presidential aspirations fade, she would abandon the Senate and not run for re-election in New York after serving out her term.

Nano – from what I’ve read, your thoughts are not at all just a hypothetical. He’s always, going back to HS, had a reputation as a hothead, a bully, and someone who always has to have his way. (you know, the old “my way or the highway” attitude). So, yes, he’s just a petty, mean-spirited, vindictive little man who happened to behave well in the adversity of being a POW.

Lieberclinton Uber Alles has sort of a ring to it.

Baja:I agree. I have been thinking for some time that triangulating against the extremes in both the R and the D Parties would be a very Clintonian thing to do. They are both weakest in those sectors anyway and the so called middle swoons at the idea of “strong, experienced leaders.”I don’t think that fund raising would be much of a problem either. Such a corporate friendly team would be capable of simply minting money from their own particular special interests with the media giving them air cover.
