Buying Votes

This says it all: Senators Clinton and McCain are attempting to buy votes. Granny Doc:

We figure that 18 cents a gallon, over 90 days, will put $11.34 in our pocket.

By the way, there are around 196,165,667 licensed drivers in America. But let’s knock that down to 150,000,000 just to be on the safe side. With a savings of $11.34 each, that’d be $1,701,000,000 in lost federal revenue which ought to be used to, you know, fix the gigantic fucking potholes and collapsing bridges along our interstate highways.

My calculations came out to $22.68 (14 gallons x 3 fillups a month x 3 months x .18), so I’m not sure how much gas they’re estimating that the average driver will use in 90 days. Nevertheless, I think if we started taxing the friggin’ oil companies friggin’ windfall, obscene profits instead of subsidizing them, we could pay for a lot of road projects and lower gas taxes!

Hows about we just hire a foreign auto maker to make us hydrogen or electric cars and boycott buying American gas-guzzlers that destroy the environment and are overpriced?Seriously. For the amount of money that this country spends on finding new dipshits to think up different ways to keep us using oil we could have completed the research and had working hydrogen and electric vehicles a decade ago.But like buying a video game system you spend little on the initial investment and astronomical amounts on the peripherals to keep it going until it dies or something better comes along, amirite?Except playstation 3′s don’t destroy the environment or require gallons upon gallons of gasoline to operate. lol
