The Clintons And The Big Lie

I can’t remember the last time I was more disgusted with the Clinton campaign. My day was only made worse by the negative e-mails I’m receiving from supporters of Senator Obama who, because of my association with the Huffington Post, believe that I’m guilty by association and a turncoat. The fact remains that the Huffington Post only posted the audio. It was the Clinton campaign that sunk to a new low by once again employing Rove-style “liberals are all elitist pussies” language.

Meanwhile, the Clintons’ new chief captain of their electoral Titantic, Geoffrey Garin believes that this will hurt Senator Obama in the general election. Naturally, the Clintons are using this to sway superdelegates. While the Clintons play this Rove game, they again fail to understand that if she were to somehow steal the nomination the Republicans will be using all of the same “elitist snob” attacks on her and her northeastern, liberal multi-gazillionaire status.

We should expect this behavior from Republican strategists like Rove and Rollins and Castellanos and all the rest. We expect them to continue to trick rural Americans into voting against their economic interests in order to side with the tough-guy team.

This time, and in the most pathetic and desperate way, the Clintons are helping to sell that Big Lie. Why? Because Senator Obama is smart, thin and sucks at bowling. For God fucking sake…really? Sucks At Bowling vs. Sucks At Everything — and “Sucks At Everything” still gets votes? Seriously?!

But you know…I’ve concluded that Senator Clinton ought to continue down this road. The fact remains that the more she squawks about this, more and more party elders will increasingly step up efforts to force her out because of it. You and I can’t be the only ones who think she’s gone too far this time.

I feel the same way. But I really believe this is another case where the people who are making all the noise were never going to vote for him anyway. It is very hard to imagine there are many people who really don’t know who they want to vote for. Most people not paying attention by now never will pay attention. I am so sick of the Clinton’s garbage that I wish I weren’t paying attention!

“But you know…I’ve concluded that Senator Clinton ought to continue down this road. “Yep. Already reached that conclusion.Senator Obama is doing fine in explaining himself and should move on.Let Clinton take whiskey shots and drink mugs of beer; let her make rediculous comments about Rambo in Philly; let her joke her way out of her flights of fancy she indulges in; let her condescend to the folks attending her rallies; and just all around behave in that irritatingly ingratiating way that I don’t believe is lost on most Americans, even us “working class” Americans. We’re not morons. But, we are a little pissed, and hopefully we’re not gonna take it anymore. And, hopefully we can get real calm and open our minds and Listen to what Obama is talking about, really Listen…then, I think the people will do the right thing…I hope so anyway.

I am an Obama supporter and cannot believe either that you would be under siege for being an HP contributor. You were one of the few breathes of fresh air on Friday and Saturday when this contrived assault started.Without your intervention on behalf of Obama, the past two days would have been very lonely indeed. Many of my fellow comrades need to do a little more digging, and a little more reading about who is telling the straight scoop on these attacks.I would simply ask that you keep up your great posts on HP, there are those of us that are reading them! And, if you have a few moments, consider asking around why Ms. Mayhill Fowler chose to wait five days before clearing her suddenly debilitating conscious at such a critical juncture in both campaigns. With Barack’s words being such an insult to her, it is hard to understand why she carried the weight of such an affront to her moral beliefs quietly around for the rest of the week. Too, I did not understand her immediately allowing herself to be queried, questioned, and interviewed via phone by the Lou Dobbs show on Friday evening when the story first hit the cable channels.I have no problem with her, and the HP allowing publication of Barack’s speech. My problem seems to be HOW she elected to release her story. She knew that taken out of context these words would be contorted, contrived, and used as lengthy ammunition against a candidate who was telling what most Americans already know: we are angry, we are bitter, and we are tired of having our government turn the other cheek. They say that timing is everything. Ms. Fowler’s needs some explaining.
