The Truth About The Gas Tax Holiday

I was at the Chapel Hill Rally last night, about 15,000 people strong despite it going until almost 11:30pm.He expressed the same sentiments (of course, it’s his new NC stump speech), but he railed on McCain even further, with more fervor than I had ever seen him express. The crowd loved it, standing ovations and yells of support abounded.On a side note, one of the best moments of the night came early, when the warm up band was playing “The Electric Shuffle”.Now, the rally was already a party atmosphere, people bobbing their heads and singing here and there.But when that song came on, about 20% of the stadium got out of their seats and started dancing, either in place or on the stairs and hallways. Excitement epitomized.The best moment, and the number one reason why I support Obama and what he offers to us, was best personified by not one, not two, but three different pockets, around various parts of the Dean Dome, of old black women getting young white college students out of their seats to teach them how to dance the shuffle. They were holding hands, dancing, and just generally having fun. In our age of Ipods and email, it’s rare to see complete strangers joining together like that, much less across different genders, generations, and races.Oh yeah, and the crowd doing “The Wave”? Pretty awesome too.

Bob, I want to know what we can do besides financially supporting Obama and perhaps you can help. I am so depressed and worried that the B*tch HRC will STEAL this nomination from him and the MSM continues to badger him with Wright (whom I think has supremely intellilect, is witty and charming) but so many STUPID and IGNORANT Americans will take as “black rage” since they are racists. Is there any way that all Obama supporters can physically gather and show the clintons that we will NOT ALLOW them to steal this from us. The MSM has been rotten; they continue to play the game of “guilt by association”, but only with Obama. I have blogged to every MSM telling that they must be FAIR and play the game across the board for the other 2 candidates. The public has the right to hear lots more about HAGEE AND THE LUNATIC FRINGE he represents, and they also deserve to hear more about the “Fellowship” for HRC which is an elitist load of crap with Coe as their founder – some religion full of more FRIGHTENING LUNATICS than Wright could ever be! Is there anything that all Obama supporters could do in unison? My family and I support Obama and we just want to make certain that with all the dirty Rovian tricks the clintons have pulled that they are unable to STEAL this nomination so that Obama has a good chance at winning the GE. Can you post something regarding Obama supporters being able to unite physically in one area for Obama?

Yet (I predict) people will clamor to get this “gas tax holiday” (more appropriately called a “gas tax hiatus” since there’s nothing holy about it!) because they just don’t understand it & I doubt that the MSM will take much time to explain it. “Yeah, taxes going down! Yeehaw! We’re on board!” No thought whatsoever to the consequences and Obama will be protrayed as the liberal guy who likes taxing Americans. Arrgghh!It’s the same thing with the tax rebates. Folks are all excited by it (with no thought to the consequences of borrowing $168 billion to pay for it!) but the people who need it the most won’t get it because they don’t pay enough in taxes to qualify and they won’t know it until they don’t get their checks or direct deposits.These gimmacks don’t help except in shortterm good publicity for those who promote them.
