NO!

Edsall reporting:

Hillary Clinton has, in effect, converted her presidential campaign into a bid for the vice presidency, an unprecedented move and a high-risk gamble for a candidate in her position.

Sheesh. This is the best way to totally cancel out any good will and unity generated by Saturday’s endorsement. Now all of the Lannybots will have something else to gripe about — when Senator Obama chooses someone else for the VP slot, it’ll incite more malignant, narcissistic rage. Awesome.

Adding… This is enough to fuel several news cycles about the Clintons, thus stealing more airtime from Obama vs. McBush.

Did ya see this:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/06/05/obama-found-out-clinton-w_n_105393.html“The Politico points out that the Obama campaign heard about this major development not through the Clinton campaign, but rather, through the media. … The Clinton campaign had not yet made contact with the Obama campaign, another aide said outside an evening fundraiser in Manhattan.”Not the best way to get the VP’s slot, IMO

Maybe Caroline Kennedy will do us all a favor and select herself as VP.HRC can help Obama with his Hillbilly/White Geriatric/Latino Problem by campaigning on his behalf. She doesn’t need to be his VP candidate. Also I think this dovetails neatly with her hopes that Obama will lose in November and allow her to run in 2012. She knows that her husband would be a giant Drama/Scandal Bomb waiting to go off. They would happily torpedo his campaign.I’m telling you, BO needs to just start ignoring her completely. Let her gripe from the sidelines and everyone will finally see what her game is really all about.

I agree Nano, I can’t see any better way to handle Clinton than to move on as if he doesn’t even notice her histrionics. Also, he could continue to praise her in his speeches and how much help she will be in this movement (and specific issues like health care reform), thus forcing her to return the kind words or risk looking even more the poor sport.

Hillary is the long-coddled family drunk we’ve enabled for so long but have now grown sick of. It’s our own fault for helping her through her disfunctional periods and not holding her responsible for the messes she makes. We’ve tried the interventions, now it’s time to cut her off, no more media liquor, no more psuedo-feminist adoration-smack. Let her find her “bottom.”We’ll get on with our new lives with our new president NoDramaObama and MememeHill&Bill can follow as best they can.
