This Is The Big Question

The corporate media needs to spend more time answering this question:

Is Obama’s seeming triumph over Clinton “one of the biggest upsets” in modern political campaigns or is it the biggest?

The answer, as we’ve discussed here many times, is clearly YES. Senator Obama has bested the most popular Democratic name brand in the world. He has bested the legendary President Bill Clinton. He has bested the legendary Senator Hillary Clinton. He has bested a 20-year-old political machine, occupied by the top names in the party (McAuliffe, Ickes, Rendell, Bayh, Wolfson, etc, etc).

The fact that the race turned out to be close is irrelevant considering a man named Barack Obama, who no-one heard of before 2004, stepped up and ran one of the smartest, most-disciplined Democratic campaigns for the nomination… ever… against the most popular Democratic brand in existence today.

And he’s going to win in November.

Honestly, I figured we’d have a black President eventually- but not this soon. I figured it would be someone like Colin Powell, not some relative unknown who was born in Hawaii and lived in Indonesia. We are fortunate to have Obama at a time like this. The country really needs his inspirational capabilities- not to mention his judgment, intellect, and imagination.

Anyone heard yet about some tape of Michelle Obama three years ago at Trinity Church?… Heard the McCain campaign can’t wait to use it against Barack.http://campaignspot.nationalreview.com/post/?q=OTg1YjIzYjFkNjEyMzBiNTY0MDE4ZGRmNjdlN2RjODA=

Two things strike me about what you’ve said…First, it’s all true, and this moment will serve as a milestone in our nation’s history similar to when Kennedy wrested control of the party in the 60′s.Second, it makes one somewhat saddened to realize so clearly that the party leadership for the last 10-15 years has been largely inept and held power more through coercion vs. capability.I look forward to this opportunity to restore the party back to it’s best principles with strong capable, dedicated public servants at its core.

Midad, it seems like it’s either going to go away or have people struggling to hear either “why did he” or “whitey” (if she’d said “whitey” it would make sense grammatically so there’s that), until it fades away for everyone but the folks who aren’t going to vote for Obama anyway, ’cause he’s black.

    Good point CEU.

Yikes! I meant to say that it would NOT make sense grammatically! I was thinking about spelling grammatically correctly instead of what I was trying to say. Sorry. I am a dope.

If that tape existed, it’d be ALL over YouTube by now. I ain’t buying that it even exists.I will say only one good thing about the whole Clinton Debacle and that is that much of the garbage that could be slung at Obama already has been so that, by the time the general election is fully underway, (a) he’ll have already formulated a good response to it and (b) people will be sick to death of it.
