Senator Leahy isn’t intimidated by the Joker (watch for Leahy at the end).

By the way, lots of subtle anti-McBush political statements in The Dark Knight. The Bat-Sonar conflict between Lucius and Bruce for example (I won’t spoil it further, but you’ll see).

    (mild spoiler)I thought that the most obvious example of a kick to the Chimp admin. was the scene during which Harvey Dent was intimidating/torturing one of the Joker’s goons. Batman stops him then says (paraphrasing) “This man is a paranoid schizophrenic…. If someone saw you doing this, everything that we’ve worked for would be over, and the criminals would be set free.”
