Dr. Phil Gramm

I don’t know why the McCain campaign and their barbeque-slathered friends in the corporate media are shocked by Phil Gramm’s “nation of whiners” remarks. We’ve known for a while that Gramm was a lobbyist for UBS — urging Congress to ignore predatory lending practices.

So financials like UBS have crippled our economy and when we seek accountability, Gramm says we’re whiners. We’ll see who’s whining when some of these CEOs are indicted.

(By the way, the “Dr. Phil” joke is Senator Obama’s. Naturally Senator McCain’s too-funny response was to call Senator Obama “Dr. No.” HOO-HOO! Zinger!)

    Awesome Nata! I got goosebumps watching. I can only imagine what it was like to be there.I can’t wait for this battle to really be joined. Obama is going to tear his ass up.

    Rest of the speech and entire town hall was awesome. He gave a great comment on FISA and why he voted for it and how he’s going to fix it–stressed, that he’s a constitutional lawyer. Look for his answer. He talked about his pay-go program, which is how he’s going to fund the new initiatives he wants, you pay for one, by removing another, ie: war in iraq. He’s amazing! Natasha

    Given McLame’s latest statement about Social Security, I think he’s probably lost at least that part of the AARP crowd that’s paying attention to what he says.I’m not an AARP member, but I’m in the right demographic to be, and I’ve been against him since the get-go. Don’t assume that McCain’s automatically got the geezer vote locked up.
