Heckuva Job

Oil hit $147 today.

And instead of doing what’s right, Congress spent the last two weeks capitulating to President Fail — and for what? Giving civil immunity to major corporations. Good job, Congress!

This kind of CYA behavior — this kind of distraction from the real issues — is as old as the nation itself, but when it’s this obvious and brazen, a single-digit job approval for Congress is too generous.

They allowed Bush to speak about oil prices today. “one reason gas prices are up are because oil prices are up. One reason oil prices are up are because of supply issues. So we need to increase the supply here with drilling.” paraphrasing. Do you think he talks like this because he’s too stupid to understand the broader concepts or ’cause he thinks we are?

    The former.

Agreed, the former. Is it January yet? I’m ready for President Obama to take his office!

I’m inclined to agree. He thinks he’s smart as hell, certainly smarter than anyone who might disagree with him, and therefore the rest of us are stupid. No one ever explained to him that intelligent people always recognize that someone out there knows more than they do.
