This is good news. More liberals on TV — the tide continues to turn.

I’ve been very happy to watch Rachel scramble up the ladder. It’s encouraging to see that there are some in the news media exec offices with the smarts to pick substance over style. Congrats Rach!

There is one other question that I feel needs asking, though. Does anyone understand the relationship (lack thereof) between MSNBC and Randi Rhodes? It would seem that she should at the very least be visible as one of the many talking heads in boxes that MSNBC enjoys sprouting each week. Why is she so invisible?

    I’d hit it.

Great story. Thanks for the link. Thought Rachel did a fine job filling in for Keith.

She is Rhodes Scholar sexy! What that means, I don’t know. So let’s just say, “She’s got ZAZZ!”

  • bajasteve

Gee, Alaska, great job at mimicking John McLame in his high regard for women!

I love, love, love Rachel Maddow. My going-to-work and going-home-at-night ritual is to listen to her show’s podcast. Watching her career blossom is so redeeming for me because I pegged her as someone who totally “gets it” quite awhile ago and I am so, so, so happy to see her being successful. Yay!

bajasteveOops, I forgot to put in the sarcasm tags on my comment.

Without trying to sound like my sexist pig friend “Alaska” – Rachel Maddow could talk dirty politics to me anytime (yeah, yeah, I know).

  • bajasteve

I guess you two are ok with McCain’s jokes then, right? (no sarcasm intended)Oh, and in case you aren’t aware, she wouldn’t be the least bit interested; she’s not into guys. With guys like you two, it’s no wonder why.

  • AlaskanCelt

Bajasteve:Yes, I know Rachel Maddow’s gay, she’s obviously brilliant, and I think she’s one of the most politically astute commentators in the media today. That’s why I said she could talk “DIRTY POLITICS” to me.Frankly, I thought my comment was far too clever to be a McCain or Bush joke, and was not really sexist at all.I also believe you really need to get over yourself and stop being such a tight ass.

Bajasteve -I was sarcastically reposting a very common internet cliche. I never expected anyone to take me seriously; but you seemed to take me very seriously… to the point of still retaliating after I said I was being sarcastic. No, I do not find Bush or McCain’s jokes funny, and I have blogged against both of their jokes a number of times. And I know Ms. Maddow is a homosexual, but I have to disagree that she chose to be homosexual because of sarcastic internet jokers and I’d be willing to bet that she’s a homosexual because she is physically attracted to women. But what do I know?

  • bajasteve

That’s okay; you guys were just being “you guys” I understand.Sarcasm is appropriate in the right situations. With the current state of affairs, making”sarcastic” one-liners about women is inappropriate. And, just so it’s clear: if you have to go out of your way to explain that what you said was sarcasm, you aren’t very good at it.I’m not a tight ass, and I’m not in need of getting over myself, btw; I hust think people should be treated with respect.
