Brokaw

Cranky pants:

“When John McCain was sitting in a prison in Hanoi, Bill Clinton was writing letters to his ROTC commander trying to get out of the draft!”

Where was Brokaw four years ago when the Republicans paraded around the RNC wearing purple heart Band-Aids? Not a word.

Somebody call Olbermann and have him ban that fuckstain from MSNBC.

This is the reason that Meet The Press is unwatchable today. Fuck Brokaw – send him back into retirement!

I suppose he just forgot to mention George AWOL Bush and Dick “5 Deferments” Cheney. God damn these motherfuckers!

I don’t blame Brokaw. I blame the environment he has been in for so long. Brokaw was a good journalist. However this all goes back to being slammed for being apart of the “liberal media” so long that they slant everything to not be called liberal. I would not be surprised if you heard something to the effect: “Obama speaks to 80,000 people…but 38 were PUMAs are mad, this speech was grossly unsuccessful.”

When I heard Brokaw say that, I screamed out loud “What??!!!” and nearly through my laptop at the TV screen. Keep in mind he said that after the point was made about how gracious and respectful Bill Clinton (and the rest of the Dems) have been to McCain re: his military service. This exactly why we need to stop giving McCain the obligatory props for his service. I know it’s classy and the “right thing to do” but it’s never reciprocated on the other side. Just look what they did to Kerry. I don’t like fighting dirty, but this election is way too important to the future of this country, and I’m afraid we need to start fighting dirty right back if we want to win this election. In politics, nice guys ALWAYS finish last.

Sorry for the typos, BTW (that’s “threw”, not “through”). I’m all hopped up on caffeine this morning. I literally cannot sleep.

Brokaw is a total dick these days. Since he has come out of “retirement” he feels no obligation whatsoever to keep his snide comments to himself. Granted, Olbermann and Co. aren’t exactly objective, but you expect that of them. Not Brokaw – I have totally lost my respect for him as a journalist. He has no business on Meet the Press in any capacity. I wish he’d just go away once and for all.

Kid Dynamo nailed it–overcompensation for the “liberal media” canard.they’re already undercutting the historic speech tonight. How dare Obama speak in front of a huge crowd–how dare he!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable–

  • CMLA

You know what? Fuck him. He can go straight to hell. I’ve been thinking that convention started.

Talk about a right-wing echo chamber–I doubt it will be like this next week:I wonder if they will ask everyone they interview about Ron Paul and Bob Barr? I wonder if they will ask everyone how McCain will explain his voting record that is 95% in agreement with Bush? And ask exactly, SPECIFICALLY, what policies of McSame’s are different from Bush’s. I wonder if they will ask everyone about the LIES in McSame’s ads? I wonder if they will cover Cheney and Bush the way they covered The Clintons. In the meantime, I wish Dem’;s would find some balls and go after the media for the silliness–can someone explain to me why speaking in front of his supporters in a outdoor stadium is a problem. The media keep harping on this question without explaining what’s wring with it–other then echoing the right-wing meme of “celebrity” and “presumptuous”–which is a hollow meaningless talking point–aren’t ALL candidates celebrities? and do you think John McSame is not presumptuous?

I keep hearing what a swell “journalist” Brokaw was is his day. Did he ever work at any real journalism? He managed to look pretty reading a teleprompter off and on over a half-hour every night while correspondents did the real reporting. By the time he retired he was becoming increasingly incoherent and had a hard time doing even that much.
