Via AmericaBlog, Senator Biden is the poorest United States senator with a maximum net worth of $277,997. Definitely not my definition of ‘exotic’ or ‘out of touch.’

Speaking of exotic, Senator McCain is the eighth richest U.S. senator. And anticipating McCain’s exotic potential running mate, Mitt Romney is worth $202 million. That’s over 700 times more than Senator Biden’s net worth.

    McCain’s figure doesn’t appear to include his wife’s wealth. Since she has refused to release her financial records all we really know about her net worth is that she inherited an estate worth about $100 million. [Doesn't it strike people as a bit odd that they've been married for 30 years and her assets are still held separately from his?] If my assumption is wrong and the figures do include Cindy Lou’s money, then it seems they’ve squandered a hellava lot of it and all those properties are mortgaged to the hilt.Most of Biden’s, OTOH, probably can be attributed to equity in his home. He doesn’t appear to have enriched himself through Washington connections.
