It’s worth noting that pursuing the cross-in-the-dirt evangelical parable as it might have happened to McCain is in no way impugning anyone’s war record.

In other words, this isn’t swift boating. It’s impugning his character. He’s a liar and a scam artist who sided with the Bush administration on allowing the CIA to continue to use torture. He’s a sad, sad old man.
