    A bit off-topic, but:Doesn’t John McCain’s “We are all Georgians now” sound just a bit presumptuous?Maybe even uppity?

    He and Lieberman (blech, pituiy!!) are definitely guilty of using this terrible tragedy in Georgia for their own gain.

    Bob, I’m late on this one, but did you hear Cokie Roberts on NPR earlier in the week? There was an outpouring of outrage that (…”outpouring of outrage”? Christ, I gotta read the Guardian’s blog comments more–soooooo much more articulate than my own) they mentioned on the air, picked one particularly limited comment (“Last I checked, Hawaii was a state”) and dismissed it with Steve Inskeep’s (sp?) annoying attempt on humor. Bleh. Even liberals in the media are coopted (as my Philly wife would put it) schmucks for dogs.
