If you were a space alien tuning in to the campaign television coverage for the first time, and overheard what Barnacle, Ford, Matthews and Stretch were saying about Senator Obama’s “exotic problem”, you’d swear the Democrats had nominated a fellow space alien.

Harold Ford was probably the most guilty of all of them.

I repeat: The “exotic” candidate is the one with eight houses. Period.

    This is why the one critique I’ve read that makes the most sense is that the need better message discipline–They really need to go after the “7 houses” thing over and over–and should have done so more than once here. When you look at the past two elections, all of the one line narratives were against Dems: “invented the internet” “flip-flopping”–etc. There is not one concise narrative that was used against Bush. I hate this, but we aren’t going to change the BBQ media, and we have to play that game better than them this time–they also need to go after the $5 million remark–room for improvement, but still a great pick that will help.

    Once again….i could not stomach the MSNBC panel. I watched for like 4 minutes…and then realized that it was more of the same tripe they have been extolling…and switched over to the Food Network…now im hungry!

    This “exotic” thing is tacit racism on the part of our media–pure and simple. They are enablers–shame on them–and Harold Ford.

    It’s all bull! Biden can not be painted as elitist or exotic. The most elitist thing he’s ever done is send his sons to private school after the death of his wife and daughter.Well, duh! Private schools make special arrangements for single parents with difficult schedules, and being a Senator, Joe needed to be able to concentrate on his job.He was not, and still is not, a rich man! It would have been much easier for him to take a position at some local or area law firm, and quite likely more lucrative to boot!Instead he depended on family and paid out of his own pocket to provide the best care for what was left of his family. WTF is elitist about that?Certainly after his second or third term he could have sold his soul to the special interests and gone to work for some lobbying firm and been in a much better position financially today!While I don’t agree with Biden on every issue he is a respectable man PERIOD
