Obama-Clark ’08

I agree with Digby about General Clark. Of all the names being tossed around, he or Governor Sebelius are the best options. And I don’t think his statement about Senator McCain will be much of a problem. The debate has moved on and there’s not a lot of room in the news cycle to revisit it.

I wouldn’t object to Clark as a VP candidate even though he is a Hillary Clinton supporter. His comments on “Face The Nation” will probably resurface for a time and then fade as fast as the attention span of most voters. Also, because of those comments, picking Clark might be seen as a “fuck you” to the GOP and the McCain campaign, and we can always use more of those.

I am worried about the nutty Clinton supporters (not ALL of them, just the nutty ones) who would take a Sibelius pick as a slap in the face in lieu of Hillary. Too many times I’ve heard “if it’s a woman other than Hillary, I’m voting McCain.” See the logic in that? That’s why I call it nutty.

The PUMA crowd is not that big. I couldn’t care less what those wackos say. If Clinton isn’t made president they will be pissed, so who cares. I don’t let insane people dictate my choices so neither should Obama. Wes Clark is my first choice and Sebelius is my second. I would be excited about either one. I think they both have been at the top of the list from the beginning. A Obama/Sebelius ticket would be cool with Wes Clark as Sec. of State or Sec. of Defense. Now thats a bad ass team. Team O Baby FTW!

I would love to see Clark on the ticket. He’d be able to go toe to toe with the McCain Campaign on military matters.

I thought I’d posted this, but there is a petition for Clark to be on the petition. Of course it is Obama’s decision, but the petition seeks to provide grassroots support for the idea, in case that’s useful. :) Here’s the site: http://www.obamaclark.com/QT

Hey Kid, I completely agree with you, but my fear is that the McCainstream Media will latch onto this and make it an issue. Then all you’ll hear for the next three months is how Hillary was dissed and it’ll be yet another distraction from the real issues.

Broadway Carl.I hear ya on the MSM look at the PUMA nonsense. However if this campaign is about courage we need to look at the situation as yet another way to push pass what the conventional wisdom is. The MSM will somehow make an issue of whomever he picks. He could pick Jesus and they would say he is too Jewish, or too hippie-esque. So I think he should be pick the best person not who the MSM is going to go after the least. Here is my mean summation of all my thoughts on this topic: “Hey MSM and PUMA, fuck off and get bent”
