Obama-Clark ’08

Very interesting.

Barack Obama’s VP choice will speak on the veteran-themed third night of the Democratic convention. [...] According to USA Today, the theme for Wednesday, Aug. 27 is “Securing America’s Future,” which just also happens to be the name of Gen. Wesley Clark’s political action committee.

Still a long shot, but Clark on the ticket would make me smile.

It would certainly give the ticket undeniable military and national security cred. I like Wesley Clark, and I like the fact that he’s not afraid to speak the truth about McCain’s lack of qualifications to be CinC. As he said, getting shot down doesn’t make you presidential. Getting shot down just makes you a victim of AAA/AGM.

Me too, I’m starting to think so too! Not Kaine.

Plus Clark came home from Vietnam on a stretcher, which never hurts when dealing with the “he suffered at the hands of the North Vietnamese so he should be president” crowd.I’ve been wanting Clark for a long time. I’m smiling just imagining Clark in a VP debate against Bobby Jindal…

While Wesley Clark isn’t far enough to the left for me, he’s a helluva lot more progressive than many House & Senate Democrats these days (which is unusual and impressive) for a career military man.

To quote my biker neighbor, “Dude, you don’t understand…”Obama/Clark ’08 is my dream ticket and has been ever since it became clear that Clark wasn’t going to run for president. Let’s not forget that Michael Moore was a HUGE supporter of the Clark ’04 campaign. For very, very good reason.*shiver*

I would like to understand why Gen. Clark is not the perfect VP choice. Besides his credentials, it seems to me he would be a really good VP. He is smart, loyal and hard working. Even though he supported Hillary, it seems to me he could and would work well with Obama.
