Sick ‘Em, Joe!

It’s Senator Biden.

And here’s to hoping they dispatch him to the cable news networks where he’ll rip the McBushes a new asshole on a daily basis. After all, you know what they say… the most dangerous place in the world is between Senator Biden and a camera. The guy likes to be on the television and he likes to attack — so I can’t think of a better assignment. This is going to fun.

The text message arrived at 3AM. Nice one.

I’m okay with Obama’s choice of Biden. He’d better plan on tempering the grandstanding when The Big Cheese is around, though. That Biden does love to go on. ;) However, he’s not as polarizing as Hillary, so it’s just as well he didn’t go with her, and her baggage. Pretty sure there’s a cabinet post in her future, anyway.

This is going to be great! He was one of my top picks. I’m just mad the text came at 3am, I was sleeping!

Here’s my big take on Biden. He is a gaffe machine, but he’s good at handling the blowback also. He is well vetted enough from his time in Senate that there isn’t much more the GOP can throw out.But and most importantly. They said Bush did so well because he is that kind of guy you would want to have a beer with. Biden also has that appeal. He’s like the old guy on your street you would love to just talk to and always willing to be there as a friend.I think he is a really good pick and I am so glad I don’t have to loose sleep over Bayh anymore.

eh. Safe, vanilla pick: a white guy.Doesn’t do anything for me.I don’t like that he’s had a strong say in the bankruptcy bill that created indentured servants out of those BO supposedly cares about.Visiting my wife at the DNCC office this morning. I’ll be curious about how they spin this pick. Sorry for my ‘blah’ response to Biden. For some reason it makes me feel disenfranchised all over again. Maybe because I finished watching John Adams yesterday…

I’m so disappointed. Not because he picked Biden – that’s a great choice – but because, after donating to the campaign, after buying Obama materials from the store, I didn’t get the test message. What a rip! I had planned on saving it as a souvenir of the whole magilla, and now – no text message. :(

They should’ve sent the text around 8 pm last night. It would’ve felt like more of a collective experience because there’s no way that couldn’t have known the media would figure out by all the activity. (Dispatching Secret Service to Biden’s house. Discreet!) Everyone knew around 11 PM last night. So instead I’m sure what we all got was a hastily launched text message in the middle of the night. Awesome! Hopefully, this anti-climatic experience isn’t indicative of the rest of the campaign. But, whining and bitching aside, OBAMA-BIDEN! GO!

The more this unfolds, the more I LOVE this pick. I just hope the Clintons don’t ruin the DNC–although the media is still making HRC the big story and it is really pissing me off.I really wish people would understand that there was no way he could have picked her–First, because of her actions and negative campaigning in the last three months a of the primary, but also b/c of Bill’s speaking engagemnet ties and library donors. Whether that is fair or not–this was always going to be an issue. I just don;t understand all the venom towards Obama from some Clinton supporters–he has been GRACIOUS throughout–he never resorted to any negative campaigning towards her–he could have easily gone the Lewinsky route, and he didn’t. HRC needs to nip this in the bud, and clearly say in her speech, what voting against Obama will mean for the country–first, she should say “they can kiss roe v wade goodbye”–and EVERY other issue they care about. There is not ONE issue that they disagree about (other than a slight difference on healthcare). I hope she doesn’t just “support” him–but rather she MUST talk about EXACTLY what not supporting him will look like if McCain wins.
