Very Serious Corporate Media

Give me something to break.

But in a nation in which 66% of the voting-age population is overweight and 32% is obese, could Sen. Obama’s skinniness be a liability? Despite his visits to waffle houses, ice-cream parlors and greasy-spoon diners around the country, his slim physique just might have some Americans wondering whether he is truly like them.

Yes, it’s your very serious print media acting all serious. So the Wall Street Journal thinks our presidents have to be fat and/or stubby old cranks in order be “one of us”? Gahhh-damn.

NOT SAFE FOR WORK.

First, to show my geek cred, I believe the footage in that music video is from Samurai Champloo – which I haven’t seen, but Shinichirō Watanabe is the director of it and “Cowboy Bebop”, which if it was ever made into a live action series, would match up there with Battlestar or Heroes in coolness. That said – yeah, this is getting silly. They tried reminding people that Obama had a “funny middle name” that rhymed with Osama. Then they tried to tell people Obama was a “radical” and “naive”, and then watched as everyone else around the world – including Iraq – agreed with him.In blog posts, I’ve been seeing “lazy” as well, something charged with Edwards at by Cheney to his face with the “I’ve never seen you here before and I’m President of the Senate” (which wa a lie, as we all know now after footage of Cheney introducing Edwards at a breakfast proved), and Edwards was too much of a wuss to shove the claim down his throat. So now they’re left with – uh, he works out too much! Because he’s vain! And he’s presumptuous! Which isn’t *anything* like uppity! Did you hear he wants to raise *everyone’s* taxes, even though he doesn’t? How about his energy policies are bad, because he really *wants* to stop using oil? And, uh – look – white women!(sigh) Clinton started doing better only when she really started throwing the kitchen sink at him. If McCain runs out of even that, then what will he be left with?(Looks at the maps at Pollster.com.)Oh, yeah. Losing.

“Samurai Champloo is the greatest anime series ever. Seriously. You should get the DVDs asap.”I was always partial to Trigun, mostly because of its themes revolving around the morality of killing other living things, even if it was justified.Plus, my name is one of the characters.

“Samurai Champloo is the greatest anime series ever. “Well, I’m 55 years old and I’m a fan of both Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop.Trigun is also pretty cool, but I enjoy the others more.
