Wingnut Mailbag

From the mailbag:

Why do you find it so wonderful to lie every chance you get, or is it the duh factor on your side. One thing I can say about all asshole liberals like you, you are sure in love with yourself and think you are real intelligent. The real fear goiing around in this country is the fact that there are so few morons like you but they have gained so much influence. Socialism and communism do not work, it is kind of obvious by just looking at your hate for America and love of Che Guevara goes to extremes.

The “socialism” theme is running rampant all across the wingnut intertubes right now. It’s only a matter of days before they bring back the word “pinkos” while distributing swag with “Joe McCarthy Was Right!” slogans.

One of the characteristics of “intelligence” is a self-awareness; a recognition of one’s faults AND strengths. At the end of the day, what we should probably be asking ourselves probably is, “Should I be more proud of my intelligence or of my ignorance?” The thing I don’t understand about the portion of the electorate that voted for George W. Bush the second time is their belief that someone “stupid like me” is a more attractive leader for this country than someone who is “thankfully, smarter than me”.Shouldn’t we aspire to being intelligent and ask that our leaders be even more so???

Better to be a flaming liberal than a flaming asshole, I always say!I want a “Pinkos for Obama” shirt too.

What I find so common amongst most wingnut rants is their inability to write a well constructed, articulate sentence using proper grammar…For example, the first “sentence” in the rant is clearly a question, rhetorical or not (and missing the requisite “?” if meant as an earnest question). It is, however, quite clear this person cares not for a response as their only raison d’etre seems to be insulting people instead of actually discussing issues in a rational tone. And I love the “real intelligent” comment. Having merely left it as “intelligent” would have actually been more insulting. So not only is this person inarticulate, poorly informed, nay deluded, they are grossly inadequate in performing the one thing they think they can do better than most – anonymously attacking someone in a blog – oddly enough, Bob, it’s YOUR blog and they chose to come here and send hate email – if they don’t like your sense of humor or politics, then don’t read it, watch it or listen to it.As for the bit about so few morons with so much influence, clearly that is allusion to the last 7 years of the Bush catastrophe. Now that I read this, are we so sure it isn’t sarcasm? If it is, then perhaps the author of this incoherent diatribe take a writing class so that we, the reader, will be able to recognize it as such.Aye, socialism has its pitfalls as does communism but I fail to link this to you, Bob. To the contrary, I believe you to be a real patriot. As am I. As are my friends and even some of my enemies. Free thinkers and whatnot.I fail to recognize how someone who questions our authoritarian regime, believes in the Constitution and welcomes dissent could be considered an “America Hater.” In fact, we are the opposite of America Haters. We are the patriots. We believe in freedom and not the kind that’s manufactured by fascists and printed on bumper stickers or flag lapel pins (made in China, by the way). It’s almost as if this poster and those of his/her/its ilk are wound up on a daily basis and offered only a few words to repeat; Socialism, Communism, Elitism, Che Guevara, America Hater. Non-Free Thinkers and all that jazz.To the poster: Egad, think for yourself, if you still can. And if you can’t then I’m truly sorry for you and the people that love you.PS: There’s only one “i” in “going.” I realize that you must have been so incensed by whatever Bob wrote not only did grammar escape you but caused a complete and utter abandonment of your orthographical skills. However, if you want to be taken seriously, as a “really intelligent” person, do try to seem that way, jus’ a lil’ bit.On second thought, perhaps a few like Bob have more influence over people, namely you, than they’re given credit for. Again, if he’s getting to you, you’re letting him.Personally, I think you’re hella-funny Bob…

Bob, I really dislike pink. Could I, instead, have a “mauves for Obama” shirt? Or perhaps “fuschias for Obama”? In a pinch, I’ll even accept a “non-morons for Obama” shirt. Thanks,Steve

Except you do realize that these wingnuts would think that McCarthy was TOO liberal, they are pretty reved up right now , I do love it when they say things like “you people” or I am called “extreme” ( yeah a mom sitting in her jammies eating nutterbutters and watching the Olympics is a threat to THUR AMERIKA!!!….(I like the “fuschias for obama”…I look awful in barbie pink….)It really does feel like the 1950′s right now ( I was not alive then- but I have a good imagination…)

They always have to try the red scare when the brown scare starts losing it’s effect.

  • Nanotyrannus

I’m in for a pink shirt. It’ll go with my pink scooter, and I am gay so I guess ‘pinko’ fits since that’s what they mean.I love it when the core of their “argument” can be reduced to pretty much just name calling.

Why is it that the wing-nuts never seem to have gone to school? Not only do they have no grasp of written English (pointed out above), but they have no grasp of history. Hasn’t anyone ever told them that the United States was founded by RADICAL LIBERALS?? The conservatives fled to Canada when the actual “standing up for one’s country” started. Geesh!
