President Clinton today:

“Suppose you’re a voter, and you’ve got candidate X and candidate Y. Candidate X agrees with you on everything, but you don’t think that candidate can deliver on anything at all. Candidate Y you agree with on about half the issues, but he can deliver. Which candidate are you going to vote for?”

You know what this was? 2012. He might not be outright sabotaging Senator Obama, but he’s definitely pissing in the pool with an eye on next time.

His speech tomorrow night had better crush John McCain like a (really impotent, senile, Gollum-ish) grape.

    This is so sad. But I’ve been telling everyone this was what was going to happen since February. Again, Hillary lost in February–she had no mathematical possibility of winning–but stayed in, and it has hurt the party. think of it this way–Romney could have stayed in until the bitter end, and a similar scenario could have happened–this is why pol’s concede. Hillary did not. What’s even more upsetting is the Clintons have basically affirmed every right-wing-narrative about them. And of course, the media will run away with this.

He really is pissed that things turned out this way and he’s no longer head of the part.Also – doesn’t his description of Candidate Y pretty much describe how he conducted himself as President? He absolutely let us think he was this awesome Democrat and progressive that was fighting the Right and the Republicans to the death, but it turns out he was only going after what he knew he could do.He’s going to be a problem in the coming months. Imagine what kind of sack of unending bitchiness he would have been if HRC was Number Two on the ticket…

    Oh Christ, someone else tune in to Michelle’s address right now to the Emily’s List reception and see if it’s just me that thinks this is a deeply bitter and petulant PUMAesque audience she’s having to play to right now. Her applause lines aren’t hitting anywhere near the thunderous response they should be.I think Michelle’s face is betraying quite a bit of discomfort with this crowd.

    Bill Clinton is about Bill Clinton and nothing or no one else.He can selfishly protect and defend his “legacy” at all costs but the cold hard truth is if he had kept his pants on, we’d probably be talking about the CONTINUATION of his legacy after 8 years of Al Gore.The future of the Democratic Party is not Clintonism, and the Clintons have no one else but themselves to blame for it.
