After six days of being offline from Hurricane Ike hitting Ohio (yeah shocked me too), it brings a smile to my face to see this picture.

  • idreamofskiba

    Beautiful.

  • amaraya

Pretty much sums up what we’re reaching for, huh?

I know, I know–I am a Democrat, and politics has become so divisive…but how do people not see the greatness in this man? I just do not understand it–I just hope this country is smart enough to not take another bite of the shit sandwich, and realize what he Barack Obama is offering.Hopefully our media will not assist in the insanity the way they have in the last two Presidential elections (their fingerprint are on the mess we’re in as much, if not more so than George W. Bush’s–because they enabled it by not operating as a REAL watchdog)–and even in those elections the choice was not as clear as it is now.

    Man, that’s lovely.

  • odoralwayscold

JG, you kind of answered your own question. Most people vote the way they are told to vote, just as they buy what they are told to buy. It’s sad, my friend, but a reality.

  • Pecos Bill

    ….wow…..

This made my day.And then fivethirtyeight.com, which I have not checked in 10 days because it was quite simply driving me towards suicide, literally made me cry.I will see all you sonsofbitches on The Mall in January for President Obama’s inauguration. I’ll be the 38 year-old white man crying like a fucking baby.

  • natashacrk

Triple love it! How can anyone not see the greatness in this man?

Hey! That is a GREAT idea, Elvis. Let’s do it!!Let’s have an Awesome Blog Rally on the Mall!! I’m bringing my daughter, she turns nine that day.———-I said this over on Oliver’s Blog but it bears repeating here…this photo NEEDS TO BE the picture the world sees every time we hear “I’m Barack Obama, and I approve this message.”

  • emj

Truly a beautiful picture. Look how happy that little boy is. I feel like that little boy everyday I see Obama on tv. This is by far my favorite picture this political season and it pretty much sums up how Obama has restored, altogether, my faith in Democracy, and in Humanity’s potential for greatness, fairness, and justice. (is that going too far? Well, anyway. That’s how I feel about it.)

  • midad

LFoD, its my birthday too! We’ve already made plans to take time off for that wonderful day. Me and my Sweetie will be there. My husband went to bed last night saying “I’m just tired of being so angry and frustrated with my country. Thanks for the pic Bob. Truly Awesome.

I love this picture, I feel it!!!

You know, I hate to spoil the party, and I agree with all your statements, but it may just be the cynic in me that thinks a cropped down version of this picture would be used in a future McCain “sex ed” ad. I think my mind has been broken. For all the good things this picture evokes, I could only think of how the GOP will use it to their advantage, and it’s made me sad.

On a lighter note, I would love to share the day with all my blogging friends on the mall was we celebrate the inaguration of Obama. Can we do this logistically?

  • cminri

Hey Carl…how about a carpool?!?! (just kidding).

  • bibimimi

    I ♥ U, Mr. Obama!

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Hey Caroline – Carpool? Why not? If people in the tri-state area could meet in a centralized location, it might be feasible. R.I. is only a couple hours away from where I am. Anyone else?

We’d have to pick a locale down in DC for other blogging buddies to meet. This could be really fun.

  • http://livefreeordie08.wordpress.com LiveFreeOrDie08

I suggest the Lincoln Memorial – in front of the Reflecting Pool. Same place where King gave the “I have a dream” speech.

  • http://livefreeordie08.wordpress.com LiveFreeOrDie08

Carl – I feel for you. I’ve been slipping into Reptile reverse-logic a few times in the last few days myself. It’s an ugly place to live.Stay positive.

Wait! Wait! Which tri-state area?I want to come to the party! :( QT

  • cminri

Hey QT – Everyone is welcome! Doesnt matter which tri state area! We can all meet at some predesignated central location and converge on DC and party like its 1999….oh wait….
