Choice

Governor Palin and her daughter get to choose what happens with their bodies. But if the governor and Senator McCain somehow attain the presidency, they’ll take away my daughter’s right to choose — even if she’s sexually assaulted.

This degree of unapologetic hypocrisy enrages and staggers me.

And that’s all I have to say about the Bristol story.

EXACTLY! Fucking hypocrisy! I can’t take it. I’m raging!

This is a shining example of how abstinence totally works. It worked twice if we’re to believe what preceeded this announcement.

It’s easy to say you’re keeping it when you have the money, parental support, and health insurance. These are some of the same issues that drive others to get abortions. No word on that though…

Wow…Senator Obama is a class act. If the shoe were on the other foot, would the McCain Campaign respond in kind?http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/09/obama-to-media.html

  • FrictionSoul

Obama is a class act but if Palin did in fact faked this pregnancy and forged a birth certificate, then this is no longer a family issue, but a criminal one.As far as I know, Obama’s mom didn’t fake him.

Of course McCain would not respond in kind – he’s already had the opportunity to stand up to smear tactics. I believe the expression was that Obama should “get a sense of humor”.

I know, Obama is a real leader. I am so proud to support him–McCain has been silent on all the Email smears and the lie-laden Corsi book.I think what the media will do here is pivot, and really put her stance on the issues and policy lies and ties under the microscope. I know this is a in artful example but it is similar to how the media treated Bush after Katrina. They gave him 6 year pass on EVEYTHING until Katrina–for fear of being accused of being unAmerican in the wake of 9/11. Katrina gave the media an opening to really show this emporer had no clothes.I think this Baby-gate will give them an opening not to question the private matter, but to really put this candidate under the microsope as far as the issues are concerned:Lie about the bridge to nowhereDealings with Ted Stevens PACStance on ab-only teachingCreatiosim in the schoolsChoiceoh, and how much she was actually VETTEDetc. In other news–when will the media drop the Gustav excuse for Bush not appearing at all. It is a Category 1 storm now–the right-wing is using this as a shield. I wonder if they will beat the Bush/Cheney absence to death the way they did with the Clinton storyline.

A little off-topic but here’s a great interactive panoramic shot of Obama’s rally in Detroit today:http://detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080901/SPECIAL01/80901001/1374/POLITICS01(I recorded the sound, my wife took the photo.)

The Republican Party is nothing if not hypocritical. And, nice pic, Eclectablog!

To quote my sister (who moved to Ireland after G.W. Bush was elected a 2nd time):”It would seem that abstinence isn’t a Palin strong suit. Aug. 29 was the Palin’s wedding anniversary. They were married 20 years.Track (their eldest child)was born April 20, 1989.He would’ve been six weeks premature.Except Sarah says all her previous pregnancies were ‘normal’.I don’t give a rat’s ass except for the hypocrisy.”Exactly, sis!

Onward, Christian hypocrites, marching as to war … these people have no shame whatsoever. Was it Jon Stewart who said, re: abortion, something like: “You can’t have an abortion! We want you to have babies so they can grow up and we can send ‘em to war and kill ‘em ourselves!”(P.S. The panoramic photo is spectacular!)
