Man, this is what it is all about. This is why we support him. That was fantastic. Hopefully BBQers will actually carry it tonight.

  • LiveFreeOrDie08

BAM!!!Did you see how he “accidentally” said “WHAT THE?” at the beginning. Very subtle….very cool!!

  • trustno1

Just when I think it’s not possible for me to like this guy more, he NAILS it!!!

  • idreamofskiba

They just played that clip on the radio…as soon as he said “what the” I got the biggest grin on my face.”Just when I think it’s not possible for me to like this guy more, he NAILS it!!!” – trustno1EXACTLY!!!

  • cminri

I’m at work, so I havent had a chance to listen to this video yet, but I starting to feel so disgusted and pissed off at these ridiculous tactics. And to listen to the disingenous media people continue to propagate this stupidity is beyond my comprehension. My biggest fear is that the American people ARE as stupid as the Rethugs think they are.

  • Rollah

Somewhere in a custom-crafted bunker/wine cellar, Karl Rove and his henchmen are laughing. Rove probably went to Faux News and bet the staff that he could get McCain elected, despite all the evidence and reasons why this country is in decay. “I got my 1st cowboy elected, twice, and he never even served in war-time. This McCain thing will be even easier. I bet I can even find the next W, what about that fundamentalist Alaskan governor? The media will fall for it, and so will the sheep.” Then he says, “Throw out some lies, assert them w/ enough force to appear true. No one will check. Then, we can pretend we’re the victims whenever someone tries to challenge us. No one cares about our hypocrisy.”Then, he quotes Bugs Bunny (they’re at the same level morally, if not emotionally): “what a maroon, what a gulli-Bull, what an im-Bessill”. He’s talking about the American people. If Rove wins his bet, this country won’t be worth saving.

  • The Colonel

Echoes of the climax scene in “The American President” Great work, but I really think he needs to hit back really hard on that bogus sex-ed ad they ran last night.

  • JG

I am enraged–This response is good–he needs to keep hammering on this. I can’t believe our media. They air everything the right-wing throws up against the meanwhile they are proppping up Sarah Palin, while at the same time being shut out from any access whatsoever. I agree with Sullivan who says the media should stop covering her until she starts answeering questions–otherwise it is just PROPAGANDA! I hope our MSM can sleep at night when they usher in 4 more years of Bush. Pathetic. I am outraged. we ALL need to push back VERY HARD on this–if not, we will ALL lose.

    Yeah – this is a great clip…. :) Thanks for posting it!QT

  • cminri

JG – how do we push back?!?

  • Airius

    HELL YEAH!!!!!!GoBama/Biden ’08

  • JG

We push back by Emails–or getting on Rick Sanchez’s CNN Twitter page and demand a PROPER press and an end to the Karl Rove NONSENSE–any outlet with direct communication to the BBQ media. Write to epople who are actually speaking to power like Jack Cafferty. Write to Rachel Maddow, support her show. We also need to donate to BarackObama.com–Give what you can–you can even donate $1–everything helps. Any show you see, write to them when you see them going into the “silly season”–which is pretty much everywhere–Write to advertisers who support these shows.Unfortunately, this will continue until our f-in BBQ media says ENOUGH–

  • duemsday

THIS is what he NEEDS TO DO EVERY DAY. McCain and the Republicans are going to keep hammering home these ridiculous arguments, and Obama needs to keep explaining to people what they really are. He doesn’t need to let up, and he doesn’t need to be nice about it. Too much is at stake to allow our country to keep going off the cliff, as we have been for the last 8 years. And I’m glad Obama also called the media out in this clip. He needs to keep doing that too. More attention needs to be focused on how awful the coverage is. Unfortunately, not everyone reads Greenwald, even though they should. Obama needs to make people more aware of how stupid the Republicans and the media really are.

  • JG

I agree that he needs to push back on the media–VERY HARD. As it is now, the right-wing has a two-fer in that they dictate the BBQ agenda, and at the same time accuse the media of being “liberal.” I’ve said this many times–the reason this race is close is because of the media’s framing. Since the media does not cover the issues, it is ALL about framing–and don’t count on the debates either because Al Gore crushed Bush on the issues but it was all about his “sighs” and his “tan” and uneven behavior from debate to debate. As far as I’m concerned, the media has already given the Veep debate to Palin as long as she doesn’t fall asleep or trip and fall on her face. The gloves MUST come off–Obama needs to GO ON OFFENSE against the corporate media and against McCain not being fit to lead–temperament, judgment–also, stop defending Palin–just say no comment. If Obama had a pregnant, unwed daughter, a son who abuses drugs, a dubious birth, and an alleged affair, it would be game over. He scores no points whatsoever by continuing to defend Palin while getting beaten up by LIES in McCain’s ads. Don’t think that Michelle Obama will be off limits in October–don;t think that the Rev. Wright Part Deux isn’t coming–

  • cminri

How about if we all head over the MSNBC Morning Schmoe studios with signs and bullhorns and show them what we think of them!?!?

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

My biggest fear is that the American people ARE as stupid as the Rethugs think they are.

Half of them are that stupid, or else it wouldn’t be so close.

  • JG

I honestly do not think it’s that they are stupid (although some are)–It’s that they are low-info voters. Politics is marketing for these voters. What toilet paper is softest? Charmin. What Lite Beer tastes Best and is less filling? Miller Lite. It is is because “they” say it is. The problem is the right-wing has dictated the BBQ agenda. Which is very easy to do when the frames frames an issue-less campaign and you attack the media for being liberal. I can;t think of one “capsule” the Dems were able to put forth to low-info voters. I can think of many that the right wing has: Al Gore the exaggerator/liar, “invented the internet” John Kerry The Flip-Flopping Windsurfer, “for it before he was against it”–the list goes on and on. This is why the gloves must come off–not in a trashy way–but in a STRONG, OFFENSIVE way that can be backed up. They really need to go after his temperament for one—the words ENOUGH need to be a constant mantra.

  • JG

oh, and one other thing–Obama needs to call them liars when ever they LIE, which is pretty much every time they open their mouths.

  • cminri

“It’s that they are low-info voters. Politics is marketing for these voters. What toilet paper is softest? Charmin. What Lite Beer tastes Best and is less filling? Miller Lite. It is is because “they” say it is.” = stupid!!!!!

  • sl11

It seems like Obama has to go through all this by himself. What is going on? Where is Biden? All he did is compliment Palin on her speech. Is’nt he suppose to be the attack dog? Where are the Clintons? Where is “Move On”? Why don’t they produce any commercials and hit back hard? They have enough money. I’m so frustrated….

  • natashacrk

I’m scared. I’m in panic mode!

  • rockyroad

It’s time for Obama to snuff the snark that is Palin. This election has become Obama v. Palin rather than Obama v. McCain. Palin is a nobody with a pretty odd world view. Why hasn’t the press pounced on her efforts to ban books from public schools and libraries? Why was she so utterly ineffective in irradicating meth in her tiny town of 7,000 when she was mayor of the meth capitol of Alaska? Why hasn’t the press pounced on her fundamentalism? Matt Damon asks a good question: Does Palin believe that dinasours existed 4,000 years ago? It seems like a silly question, but the answer might just be eye-popping.Expose Palin, get her out of the picture and make McCain eat crow for the cynical choice that he made when he selected her with little to no vetting. We embarked on the Iraq debacle with more knowledge than we have now about Palin . . . . half-truths, outright lies and ignorance.

  • Nanotyrannus

I love the way he cuts right through the bullshit and gets to the issues at hand. I have a feeling that John McCain is going to have his nuts handed to him at the first debate. Granted, that will be a big win for us, but it still may not finish off McCain. W didn’t do all that swell at his debates and look what happened. All things considered, though, McCain is going to get his nuts handed to him at the first debate.I. Cant. Wait.

  • grcratty

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why this man should be President.Reason, judgment, composure.
