Far-right Media

Via GottaLaff:

On September 2 and September 3, MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News each dedicated more on-air time — significantly more in most cases — to official Republican convention programming during the most-watched portions of their coverage than each channel dedicated to official convention programming during the same times on comparable nights of the Democratic National Convention.

Not a shocker from our so-called ‘liberal’ media. Also, on Friday’s Thom Hartmann show, a caller said that some local affiliates didn’t carry certain nights of the Democratic convention. I don’t have hard evidence of this, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

On that note, Hartmann reminded us that there are over 1,000 conservative radio stations in the United States. And there are only around 60 progressive or liberal radio stations — with some of them are being bought up and flipped by far-right Christian operatives.

Another interesting thing that one of our readers caught- her daughter is hearing impaired and told her mom that the R convention was not close-captioned. So much for “special needs” atttention.

Paddy, did you SEE the audience? Overwhelmingly white, over 50, and male… and I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest… comfortable to wealthy? They wouldn’t know the reality of 21st century America if it came up and punched them in the face. They’re stuck in the 1950s, where women, minorities and people with disabilities are occasionally seen, but never heard. They are so out of touch that McCain sympathized with those who had made losses on their real estate investments – not with the people that are losing their family HOMES.Raarrggh!! Deep breath. OK, rant over.

I don’t recall all the networks including cable covering the democratic convention. Am I wrong? That was my twitter update on September 2nd.I kept wondering about all the people who don’t have cable during the Obama speech. Please confirm was I right or wrong?
