Insanity

The day after Palin’s speech, the Dow dropped 344 points. Two days after her speech, we heard about a 6.1 percent unemployment rate — the highest in five years. Four days later, it’s announced that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be bailed out and we’ll be paying for it to the tune of billions (admittedly, though, this was a necessary bailout).

This morning on MSNBC, Mort Zuckerman told us that the American car companies will have to merge into one or two large corporations. He also warned of the worst financial collapse since the Depression.

And yet 40-50 percent of Americans are falling for the same “I’d like to have a beer with them” trickery — expecting that McCain-Palin will somehow be different than Bush-Cheney, even though all indications prove that they’re exactly the same. What’s that famous definition of insanity again?

McCain: “The fundamentals of the economy are strong. Very strong.”

Palin: “I’m a hockey mom! I can be vice president! Weeeeee! Hooray!”

Yeah, that’ll do. Let’s have four more years of that. Smart!

Please check out Andrew McCain and Silver State Bank of Nevada. Like father, like son.

I needed that song this morning. Thank you. I have to hold on to that and hope the cows don’t come out to graze on election day like in the last 2 cycles. Because the same old feed is being thrown out that worked (somewhat, with help from Diebold and the SCOTUS) those times.

I find it hard to believe as well, unless it’s a situation where a lot of these people are just looking for a reason, any reason, to not like Obama.I keep thinking, is this going to be 1992 again when Americans dared to actually do something about the problems they faced, or 1988 again, when George H.W. Bush rode Willie Horton & the Pledge of Allegiance to the White House?

Here you go, Bob. “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” – None other than Albert Einstein. My father is a Vet. My father believes McCain is an honorable man. I’m working hard on this one! I’ve been accumulating the cold hard facts about McCain’s voting record, his compliance (birthday cake in the wake of Katrina!), and his hypocrisy, e.g. “I support the troops,”/no endorsement for the G.I. Bill. That’s Fric; then There’s Frac-ette. My dad has to realize if she gets in the White House, she’ll likely be ruling the country in less than 4 years due to McCain’s poor health (mental and physical).Wish me luck! (Also now have Obama car stickers plastered next to my Kucinich “Strength Through Peace” one. I’m a bright yellow billboard in motion. I’m not giving up.)Another thought: demand a paper ballot or vote absentee. Any whiff of voter caging or disenfranchisement (which I see suggestions of online, re Ohio & Virginia) should be beat back with a paper trail.
