It is truly amazing to me how much of this country is just choosing to ignore the idiocy that is the GOP ticket…

Granted, no political campaign is perfect, but the sheer number of stupid, or flip-floppy, or misguided, or “I’m not camapainging” campaigning clips and quotes coming out of that 1 and a half ring circus is astounding…

Whether you choose to think that the media is “targeting” McCain or not, there just isn’t the same amount of nonsense coming out of Obama’s camp…

This election should be scored like golf… count up the stupids from each camp, lowest score wins!

You know about the Palin thing: First I was befuddled, then concerned, then scared–all the while being amused–and now I am really pissed at John McCain. How dare he do this?–he just wiped his ass with the future of the country.Again, she is not qualified–she was obviously not vetted, and for someone who is a 72 year old cancer survivor whose left eye seems to be swollen and sagging–it is just RECKLESS. He is not fit to lead. I know things look decent for us now, but the stunts and distractions will continue until the final hour–get ready for Bin Laden tapes, and Rev Wright loops–add a dash of BBQ sauce, and this could possibly go against us–and then what?I still feel good and believe we will win, but I wish McCain had seriously taken the fact that he MAY win and picked someone who was qualified to step in a moments notice.

If you haven’t seen the video from the Couric interview with Palin, the question re: the bailout, do it. Cesca has it linked in the article “Chew on this one”.

  • cminri

@JG – not to mention all of McCain’s handlers and supporters who must be aware of all of this inepitude and still continue to prop him up.When I see those “Country First” signs in makes want to puke. Dont these people realize they are putting everyone at risk, including their own families and their children’s futures. How can this be happening?

  • dontpanic23

Is she saying Putin (or Russians) have been flying over Alaska? WTF?

  • idreamofskiba

They just played a 527 ad here re: McCain & his cancer.

  • JG

There is no question in my mind that when McCain loses, his campaign will go down as one of the saddest, deceptive, erratic, and MOST pathetic campaigns in the modern era.

  • ceu

Saw it this morning, dreamy. Good one, eh? Based on this video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvesa49zSIMIt's a little over 4 minutes long – very interesting, very scary.

Re McLiar’s lies, it appears he’s trying to sabotage the bailout plan that was being worked on before he ‘heroically’ stepped in to save us all from certain economic doom. Merely so that he could then try to bully his own plan (or someone’s he cld claim as his own) and then tout that. CMINRI: no, they don’t care about anyone but themselves and their man-size safes. They think by the time they kick, their kids will never have to work and who cares what this country looks like. They’re soulless, morally and soon to be fiscally bankrupt.

  • ceu

KO … clearly unhappy and disgusted.

  • cminri

cminri = clearly unhappy and disgusted

  • PackyJ

The Republican mantra:Thank God we’re only MORALLY bankrupt!

Palin – Putin rearing his head and flying over Alaskan air space? What the fuck! I haven’t seen the Couric interview yet, and now I’m afriad to.

  • cminri

That interview reminded me of a high school student giving an oral report on a book they had only read the Cliff notes of. Just trying to get the key points in…but then forgetting the entire point of the question and just BLURTING OUT RANDOM CRAP!

Ceu – thanks for that link, though I’m now thoroughly disgusted.Btw, my wife used to take Ambien. One night I found her in the kitchen talking on the phone with a friend late at night. I went to bed. The next morning the Highway patrol called me at 6am to tell me my wife had rolled her car on a freeway on ramp 130 miles from our house – evidently driving to Las Vegas to see friends. She was in her pajamas. Luckily she survived unharmed. She remembers NONE of it. Not the call, not driving, not being extracted from the wreck. Nothing. The last thing she remembers was taking the Ambien and going to sleep. If there’s literally a 3am crisis call and John McCain’s in the White House – heaven help us all.

  • ceu

Watch it in small doses, Carl. This one’s short & hilarious:http://thepoliticalcarnival.blogspot.com/2008/09/video-iwrc-palin-bailout-is-about.html

  • jane

Did Pelosi really say that Paulsen should come up with a salary cap for the CEOs? (not sure of the source-did anyone hear that this morning??)

  • jane

That’s some scary shit, Live Free.

  • ceu

How frightening, LiveFree! Ambien was involved in that Patrick Kennedy incident in DC a while back, wasn’t it?

  • idreamofskiba

Why doesn’t McCain take this country seriously?

  • dontpanic23

@ ceu on Palin–She sounds like the verbal equivalent of a small child chasing a butterfly while making up a song as she goes.Any minute I expect her to put her fingers in her ears and go “la la la” if Couric asks one more “tough” question. This is some seriously stupid shit to let anywhere near that proverbial heartbeat away.

  • jane

I’m on the DVR delay, just now watching Obama’s press conference. Can anyone tell me- are they back in there hammering something out tonight?

  • jane

Never mind, I see the Chiron. Don’t panic, I’d SO love to see Tina Fey doing her doing interviews.

  • dontpanic23

I’m starting to think it IS Tina Fey and this is just a big funny. If only.

  • jane

Why the hell is Bush sitting in on these meetings? Jeebus, noone really cares what he has to say, and HE certainly would rather be watching teevee.

  • jane

HA! Reid: Noone understood anything McCain said.

  • idreamofskiba

Tucker Bounds always looks like he just woke up.

  • ceu

Jane, the GOP (McCain, so I’ve heard) plan for the bailout is lower corporate taxes and fewer regulations. I have a feeling Dodd’s hammering on something…

  • jane

Oooh! the McCain cancer ad. TV I can watch.

  • dontpanic23

It did sound like Harry Reid thought McCain was talking useless jibberish. Oh, that’s right. He was only there for the photos. Why burn brain cells making sense.

  • jane

HA! “Talk about air space!” -Roger Simon “whether she could HOLD the office of VP, whether she could FIND the office of VP”

  • ceu

Fuckheads! Fucking House GOP walked out on tonight’s bailout plan meeting! They suggested a cut in the capital gains tax (!) and don’t want to bail out private industry and they’re going to do everything in their power to scuttle the plan that was hammered out in the Senate.

  • cminri

I am the first to admit that I know next to nothing about economics beyond my own household budget..but Im starting to see some of the puzzle pieces fitting together. Is this all a big show by the McCain Campaign and the republicans as a way to rebel against the Bush bail out plan so they can say..”Look at us…we went against Bush! We’re very Changey” Remember..just because you’re paranoid, doesnt mean they arent out to get you.

  • Leeman67

Obama needs to hammer this home in the debate tomorrow night. No deal because McCain and the Rethugs want even fewer regulations and oversight which is exactly how we ended up in this situation to begin with. Easy, simple and to the point.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

@ Leeman – that’s if there IS a debate tomorrow night. If McCain no shows and it doesn’t backfire on him and he doesn’t plummet in the polls, I will flip the fuck out!

  • cminri

@ Carl – you mean havent flipped the fuck out already?!?!?! (I have about 16 times)

  • http://livefreeordie08.wordpress.com LiveFreeOrDie08

IMO the debate about the bailout is moot. Wall St. has already lost confidence, and the WaMu news is only going to serve to turbo charge the tailspin. By the end of the day tomorrow there won’t be much left to bail out.ouch, I just realized there’s a really bad analogy between McCain and piloting the economy. If the situation wasn’t so serious I’d bite at that one.
