McCain and Limbaugh On Respecting ‘The Kids’

John McCain in 1998 joking about Chelsea Clinton:

“Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.”

Rush Limbaugh in 1993 referred to 13-year-old Chelsea as “the White House dog.”

So watch as both men scream and yell today — waving their fists with righteous indignation about the pregnancy story.

UPDATE: Jonathan Alter on MSNBC just mentioned Albert Gore’s DUI. So there’s that, too. Do you mean Limbaugh and talk radio didn’t lay into the Gores about that one?

    Thats because its all about fluff and not substance with the repugs. Look at the Faux News “babes”. Thats how they value women…for their “hotness”. Either you’re hot or you’re NOT!

    I approve of & respect Obama’s stance of “hands off the family.” I think it is how all of politics should be conducted.But, the GOP as you point out, has relied on this sort of attack for years, so I think we’re all more than justified in our schadenfreude.I’m enjoying the hell out of watching this twist in the wind!

    Someone should remind Jonathan Alter that Al Gore is not running for office.

    Carl – Alter wasn’t attacking Gore. He was repeating what was said by the GOP either while he was in office or running for office. The GOP doesn’t have a “hands off” policy when it came to the offspring of Democrats.
