I love this. Senator Obama in Elko, Nevada:

“I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face,” he said.

“And if they tell you that, ‘Well, we’re not sure where he stands on guns.’ I want you to say, ‘He believes in the Second Amendment.’ If they tell you, ‘Well, he’s going to raise your taxes,’ you say, ‘No, he’s not, he’s going lower them.’ You are my ambassadors. You guys are the ones who can make the case.”

It speaks to you and me, but it also speaks to the tens of thousands of volunteers who are presently engaged in one of the most powerful Democratic presidential ground efforts in modern history.

Get in their faces!

In addition to Bob’s blog, HuffPo, and other favorable internet sites, this is the only alternative we’ve had to get the message out, since MSM certainly isn’t providing fair coverage, except for sound bites to further the McCain agenda.

Drudge was leading with it last time I checked. Trying to spin it as ‘the scary black guy says he’s going to get in your face’, no doubt… I didn’t stick around long enough to check.

Along this same line, the younger generation (of which I am part) needs to do this at home. Start with your parents, your grandparents, your aunts and uncles. Tell them that they are not only voting on their own future but our future. I’ve already convinced my father.

Recently I took it upon myself to email every person in my address book a copy of Obama’s “Blueprint for Change”. I was very reluctant to do this, as I don’t normally engage people through email because it is so impersonal. I also have a lot of “walk over glass” Republicans in my family that frankly, there’s just no talking to. But I got so sick and tired of hearing the standard, “What does change look like?” “He has no real plan” mantra. I also ran hard copies of the plan and distributed them to a select few computer illiterates. Anyway, I was amazed by how many people responded to me thanking me for sending the plan to them and assuring me that they would forward it to all their contacts. Sometimes people just need a little nudge. Although it’s also fun to get in their faces sometimes too!
