Petition: Keep Governor Palin!

I started a petition. Here’s the full text:

To: Republican National Committee & John McCain 2008

We the undersigned humbly request that the Republican National Committee, in conjunction with the John McCain 2008 campaign, keep Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska on their presidential ticket and/or refuse to accept her resignation.

We believe that Governor Palin is a serious drag on the Republican ticket and as long as she remains as the vice presidential nominee for her party, Senator John McCain’s chances for electoral victory on November 4, 2008 will be irrevocably damaged for the following reasons… so far:

-Governor Palin supported the infamous Bridge to Nowhere project and campaigned on it, even though in her introductory speech, she claimed to oppose it. In other words, she was for it before she was against it.

-Governor Palin is associated with a political party that advocates secession from the Union.

-Governor Palin ran a 527 organization for indicted U.S. Senator Ted ‘Tubes’ Stevens.

-Governor Palin is under investigation for using her office to settle a family score, and abruptly fired a public official associated with the matter when the public official refused to fire Palin’s ex-brother-in-law.

-Governor Palin has requested nearly $200 million in earmarks — earmarks which she claims to oppose.

-Governor Palin claims to support a ban on all reproductive choice and, thus, a right to privacy even in the cases of rape and incest, yet she has praised her daughter’s right to choose and has asked for privacy in their personal matter.

-And what will happen tomorrow?

Please, Senator McCain, don’t be as irrational getting out as you were impulsive, cynical and desperate going in. Keep Governor Palin on the ticket.

Sincerely,
The Undersigned

The Dem talking heads need to put these two words on a LOOP. Judgment, temperament, judgment, temperament…As brilliant as Barack’s speech was, these two words may be looked back on as the most important part of the speech. Dems really need to pivot and go after McCain for this decision–his first PRESIDENTIAL decision. The lack of vetting is jaw dropping. Also, the fact that they have come out and said he knew about the baby–huh? He is either LYING about this or this is a monumental lapse in judgment. The baby is a private matter–John McCain’s decision to name her if he knew this is a window into this guys judgment and temperament. This goes straight to his judgment–anyone with half a brain knows this would be a media CIRCUS. I still believe he made this decision after Barack’s speech–TEMPERAMENT.

Let me elaborate. We face a potential — albeit unlikely — nightmare in Alaska. We could have John McCain as President, Sarah Palin as Vice President, Sean Parnell as Governor/US Congress (depending on how that primary finally pans out), Don Young as US Congress, and Ted Stevens as US Senate. This is a doomsday scenario.Ideally, we’ll have Mark Begich as our US Senator, Ethan Berkowitz as US Congressman, Sean Parnell gets mono for the next few years, and for Governor… I dunno, how about Bristol Palin?

I started the blog at the beginning of the year just to encourage myself to write more. Apparently, I had a lot more to say than I knew at the time. Also, needless to say, for some reason I’ve been getting a lot of traffic lately. :)
