Sarah Who?

The Obama campaign appears to be totally ignoring Sarah Palin, which is probably a smart idea. Why elevate her? Why call attention to her? I think they might be banking on the idea that Palin will self-destruct in the face of increasing press scrutiny and investigative heat — heat that’s only being fueled by McCain’s craptastically stupid protective forcefield around her.

I totally agree Bob. Ignoring the Alaskan Governor is absolutely the best strategy, IMHO. Let the media continue the vetting of Palin that the McCain campaign so clearly failed to do. Who knows what else might turn up?In the meantime, the Obama camp should stay on message. McCain=Bush and Bush is a failure on every front: economy, health care, Iraq, foreign policy, etc.Simple, but not so sweet.

The Obama campaign is playing this perfectly.

I agree, the Obama campaign staying silent is exactly what they should be doing. In addition, Mooselini refusing to speak with reporters works out perfectly as well. In the absence of news coming directly from the candidate, the BBQ Media will eventually begin to create news. And it seems, as evidenced by a CNN interview with a Republican in the Alaska senate this evening, there are plenty of people who will talk when she won’t.

Yes. The only thing the Obama team should say about John McCain’s running mate is “Come out, come out wherever you are.” Considering the emotional maturity level of her base, chicken-clucking noises might also prove effective.

Bob: “From your lips to God’s ears” Please, someone take this women out of the race. Can you imagine a Palin Presidency? Because that will surely happen if, by some catastrophic chance, they were to get elected. McCain cannot handle the pressure of being President. Look how it aged Clinton; look how it has aged Bush (and he hasn’t even been working very hard at it).

Absolutely agree. And what with the Rethugs seemingly threatening(?) to not allow the media access to her…surely the planet will forget about her entirely. Way to cultivate the energy she generated.I thought the republicans were meant to be good at this.

The Obama Camp don’t have to do anything at this point. The media have the scent of blood, and they’re not going to let this go.

My husband had a good idea — he thinks Biden or Hilary or someone should say, “The McCain campaign should let Sarah be Sarah,” the way they used to say, “Let Reagan be Reagan.” If she has so much refreshing down home authentic American wisdom to impart, why don’t they let us hear it?

I agree with recruitgal. The Obama campaign can stay above the fray while the media gets more & more annoyed that they have no access to Palin. Buchanan was defending the McMavericks a bit ago, saying that of course Palin is going to be behind closed doors, being brought up to speed on issues, foreign policy, etc. She’s studying. He doesn’t see the irony that that’s the point. She doesn’t know squat about the world! She’ll have the barest minimum of information in order to debate Biden, but not enough to answer questions from reporters.Doesn’t really much matter WHO goes after her, Obama/Biden will get the blame for any negative info about her.
