Signs of Hope & Change

I like these things, but to the non-believer, as it were, these come off a bit to “Up With People”y.Need to craft a message that’s comfortable to the independents and Bubba’s that are still reachable.

McCain-Palin is for change, too…change your story every goddamned time it suits you.

I am worried.the electoral college narrows the race to about 4 states or so.I’m worried the republicans can narrow the race to “VICTORY” and pro-life in these states.the fact that McCain has sold out every thing he ever stood for,the fact that he made such a dangerous choice for his VP,coupled with the fact that the race is still close,has me very, very worried.

–just watched the Palin 20/20 interview (which was basically a cut and paste of what we’ve already seen). It is very clear that she is an attractive lying, substance-less Trojan moose who has no business being VP, let alone POTUS. She really reminds of an even more substance-less version of Bush.That is the last I’ll say on her until there is something new that comes out–because what is most important is how our media has acquiesced to the unprecedented lying. George Stephanopoulus had Tori “Lipstick On A Pig” Clark and Dee De Myers on to comment–and my jaw hit the floor when Dee Dee heaped “just fines” on her and didn’t address the fact that Palin lied again, didn’t answer any questions, and simply repeated more of the same Bush platitudes. I am so sick of WEAK Dem surrogates–she was pretty much right in line with her Republican counterpart–unreal.ENOUGH–There is a silver lining here, and I honestly think we have our opening. The opening was hinted at in Kate Snow’s intro piece before the interview was shown on 20/20. It basically ticked off all of the lies they are asserting in their “mavricvky reformer” campaign vis a vis the REALITY of her governance (ear marks, fiscal conservatism, etc.)–this intro piece was actually more hard hitting than even the best parts of Gibson’s tête à tête.–The Dems message in the next few weeks needs to be VERY sharp and simple. The way to do it is a way that will not only force the BBQ media to bite, but also force the McCain camp to go on defense. The BBQ media will not be able to ignore this narrative if it is repeated over and over and over. It is too seductive and cutting. This narrative is not only bubbling up, but about to reach a tipping point. That tipping point will not be reached until the Dems unabashedly repeat it verbatim.”John McCain is LYING TO YOU.” Joy Behar who I find very annoying (and unfunny) has more guts than anyone in the BBQ media–she asked McCain to his face about the lies–and if you saw his reaction, you see how vulnerable they are on this. McCain truly believes he can get away with it. And lied again on The View when he said she hadn’t taken any ear marks as Governor. Jaw-dropping. McCain/Palin has gotten away with this until this point–it is the mission of the Dems to brand him and by extension, Sarah Palin as LYING LIARS–EJ Dionne is right that the MSM will not take it upon themselves to call the lies, LIES, but the Obama campaign/surrogates must force their hand on this–and they can. This should be the focus until the debates, then reassess where the race is. They should continue to weave McCain=Bush in this LIE meme. I also think Obama needs to use the word LIE. That would be a page one story, and would force the hand of the MSM to cover it–”Obama says John McCain is lying to the American people.” It is too delicious–and the thing is IT’S TRUE, and the MSM knows it.Humor can also be a way to deliver this to the BBQ pit–John Amato of C&L has a great post on how Obama can deliver this message in his stumping. I am also worried but it feels like the tide is turning. The lying is being called out and the dust is clearing around Palin. We’ll do the right thing. Channel your worry energy into registering voters (I have registered almost 300 in the last month!) and/or getting people to donate to Obama. Have faith!
