This Will Make You Smile

PHILADELPHIA - Republican presidential candidate John McCain cut short his first public appearance without running-mate Sarah Palin after chanting supporters of Democratic rival Barack Obama interrupted his speech.

When I read this, I did one of these.

Wow…McCain’s so brave and tough, isn’t he?

“It’s time to leave the talk behind and start shaking up Washington and fixing our economy, taking care of the problems facing our families. We’re going to give a tax cut to every family with a child,” he said.Tomorrow’s Headline: “McCain/Palin Promote Tax Increase On Working Couples”

How do we fix the economy by going deeper into debt? That’s like paying off your credit cards by taking out a home equity loan & continuing to charge on the cards! You end up losing your home ’cause you can’t pay anything off.

It did make me smile — pretty big.And I was laughing before I clicked the link, ’cause I thought it might be the Ballmer Boogie again. I like when you do that. Were in Philly, Bob? You should be proud of your state today.

I don’t even know what they’re showing up for–she’s doing the exact same issue-less, lie laden snarky speech that she gave at the RNC. Obama became a rock star by winning the Iowa primary, and subsequently defeating the most powerful Democratic machine of the modern era–the media is trying to make the parallel, but I just don;t see it–The only thing she’s done is lie, avoid the press, and rev up the evangelical base.–

Can we get Ryan Seacrest to host the next 8 weeks and turn this into a call-in voting-palooza? I’d LOVE to see an unofficial vote (or several of them) prior to Nov 4th. If we can demonstrate a clear majority prior to Nov 4th it will be that much harder for the media to swallow the meme that it was a close race and McCain just squeeked it out.

Hey, he was in Philly, the city that booed Santa (Yeah, I’m an Eagles fan!)If he can’t face a crowd in Philly, how is he going to face Putin?

David Gregory just lost my business–used to D-vo his show b/c of Rachel Maddow–no more. First this question: “Does Obama really connect with voters?” are you f-in kidding me? Unreal–has he been in a coma? Nope–just another BBQ meme. Then airs the McCain attack ad on taxes–THE ONE FILLED WITH LIES about Obama raising taxes. Then asks his guests to see what they make of it to which the basically debunk the ad–and yet they aired it, and put a question mark under it. Is there any truth in our media anymore? This is a lie and should be called as such. bye bye “Stretch.”

Anyone read some of those comments from this article? Yeeeesh…I’d like to say I have some faith in my common man/woman…but, yikes.

I say Obama should continue to use the Lipstick line and tie McCain to Bush every single day–he should do this every day–embrace it–if the media quotes him every day, they’ll quote the McCain=Bush as well.

Rachel Rachel Rachel……If your going to have william kristol’s “The Boys From Brazil” spawn Matthew Continetti on your show, you must smack the smug little chicken hawk down HARD.I mean BITCH SLAP HARD !and while your at it, have pierce bush on and do the same to his ass.I promise to continue watching if you do.

David Gregory lost me as a viewer as well. I hope MSNBC knows David Gregory is a terrible lead into Hardball or Countdown and now Rachel Maddow. Guess I’ll go to CNN during David Gregory”s hour too long show. And if MSNBC think not allowing Keith Olberman or Chris Matthews cover the Debates in favor of David Gregory I and many others will be switching channels. CNN’s Campbell Brown stirred up controversy with McCain Camp they haven’t toned her down and she has a smile when some of these conservatives talk that is worth watching. I’m suggesting that CNN put Campbell Brown on at same time Dabid Gregory’s on and they may get a much larger audience.

And Gallery- she had him on the segment “talk me down,” with Iraq troop levels as the subject. Talk her down? THAT guy? WTF? Like dropping acid and going to pro wrestling (not that there’s anything wrong with that).About your post, Bob- I was gonna write Will Bunch and ask him to find some video but damn, you’re required to give first/last name, zip code, and GENDER to register. Fuck her, I says. Don’t care that much. (But if someone gets this video we’ll all do the happy dance.)

Lemons- I’m afraid that any controversy between the talkers, any rivalry, just plays into the networks’ cold, clammy hands. They really WANT us to care, only so the ratings go up.How to fight? Unless a sizable number of us gives up watching TV and lets our surrogates (like Bob here) do the watching for us, they could give a flying rat’s ass what we do.

Wow.That was impressive. Fantastic for him to have taken people to task for their duty to vote. Coming from a guy that couldn’t take voting for granted and had to actually work to achieve the right, what he said (hopefully) will have an impact.CBS should trim that down and run it as a PSA from now to election day. And Frito Lay should change their packaging to put his face on the bag saying “put down the remote and vote!!”Good on ya, Fergie!
