ACORN

Think Progress hits the nail on the head:

When a department store calls the police to report a shoplifting employee, no one says the department store is guilty of consumer fraud. The same principle applies here. The small number of staffers who have submitted fraudulent forms are violating ACORN’s mission. Anyone caught defrauding should be prosecuted, and ACORN says it is assisting in that effort. ACORN should work harder to catch these employees and ensure that they are held responsible.

Based upon the Republican “strategy” thus far, I question whether there were truly ACORN employees who perpetrated this deception. How about infiltration from the Rethugs? They’re the ones KNOWN for voter fraud — so this could be a smokescreen so THEY can start working their own little magic on voting results. eh?

There is something really smelly about all the hoopla about ACORN. This is going to be the next BIG thing coming out of the McFuck campaign. First of all ACORN is a nonprofit organization and it’s my understanding they don’t receive any government funding. Explain how they are able to misuse taxpayer funds when they don’t receive tax dollars. It’s curious ACORN is blamed for the mortgage meltdown as of late. I’m sure most of you are aware of an illegal practice of discrimination against a particular racial group referred to as “redlining” which is one of the reasons ACORN exists. How many poor black families have you seen moving out of McMansion neighborhoods? I dare say, NONE! I think this needs some serious investigative work on the part of our fine investigative media.HERE WE GO! Thanks Cactus Gal! Bob are you out there man?In a report released October 2008 the US Department of Justice Inspector General found that former U.S. Attorney David Iglesias was wrongfully fired by Attorney General Alberto Gonzales after Iglesias declined to indict over alleged voter fraud at an ACORN affiliate in New Mexico, citing insufficient evidence.[61]
