Sarah Palin didn’t choke on her own vomit last night!

Some of us are wishing she had.

  • KatinWilm

I wish David Gregory would too, Carl. What a jackass. He simply cannot admit that Biden was superior last night. He’s trying to pull out every possible clip to show how “strong” Palin was. Strong at being a bitch maybe, but that doesn’t take much skill. I do that on a regular basis.

  • Gina

This isn’t exactly to do with primetime, but I wanted to share in case others didn’t catch it.I’m home sick today, so I was channel surfing early this afternoon and I caught a clip of Fox Noise (I like to keep up with the dis-information they spread) and I saw Carl Cameron talking about his little post-debate interview with Palin. In it she rattled off by rote three or four Supreme Court cases that she didn’t like, as well as cited a couple of newspapers and mags that she reads. Including..the NYT and The Economist. My first thought was, “Joe Six Pack reads The Economist and the NYT?”Then she went on to say that the reason she had trouble with Katie’s questions was that she was “annoyed.” The MSM media annoys her. She’ll have to work on that, she said.My second thought was, “If she can’t handle Katie Couric, how does she think she could ever handle anything else as VP?”

The soft sexism of low expectations?

The Economist. Really. That should make for some uncomfortably classic moments in the upcoming weeks.”What was your impression of the recent piece by George Will?”Answer: George Will doesn’t write for the EconomistPalin Answer: “Also, as a mayor, and a governor, and a VP, if I should be so honored and blessed by the people of this great Nation, I believe that the article spoke to the need to fill those hungry markets when joe six-pack and hockey mom’s out there, whom I dearly love – just a quick shout out to them hockey moms out there – so it’s clear that a team of Mavericks such as Senator McCain, would leave us, rather lead us, in summary. But there would be others, yes, I’m sure there would be others.”

Whenever stretch comes on I either mute or switch over to see if I can catch me some Cafferty.MSNBC should steal Cafferty and THAT would be a winning line-up.

Whoa what in the hell is up with Howard Fineman’s hair?

  • ceu

Sarah Lou will do NO Sunday talk shows for the foreseeable future. So much for talking to the voters directly. Maybe she’s holding out for another convention where she can read someone else’s words off a teleprompter…

  • J M Ashby

Yeah Ceu -Palin: “I’d love to answer some questions without the media filtering me and dumbing me down”…Palin: “Oh by the way I wont be talking to anyone until this thing is over”

  • ceu

She’s got a new flag pin, too. This one is HUGE…a flag brooch. Makes up for the fact that McCain’s not wearing one…

  • J M Ashby

Palin didn’t know her own campaign pulled out of Michigan until asked about it today by a reporter?Thats pathetic.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Gina, I know how you feel. After hearing that Miss Wasilla was “annoyed” I flipped out myself and blogged about it.

Palin on Nukuler Wepins: “nukes would be the end all be all of people on the planet being bad and I believe US americans dont have maps and such as”

  • http://livefreeordie08.wordpress.com LiveFreeOrDie08

I have an idea, how about a whistle-stop town hall tour where the VP’s criss-cross the country taking questions directly from Joe SixPack and Holly Hockey Mom. Between stops they could sit and read WSJ, the NYT, and of course The Economist. Doesn’t everyone??

  • ceu

Just read it, Carl. Well done. And you didn’t sound like you’d flipped out – you sounded like a rational, logical, sentient being who’s had enough!

  • KatinWilm

Palin’s excuse that she didn’t do well in the Couric interview because she was “annoyed” is mind-boggling. Her brain cells shut down when she’s pissed? How would she handle happy sunshiney Putin when he tells her that he’s gonna build a house in the Crimea? Start drooling? Begin singing her ABC’s? This woman is completely out of her league and shouldn’t be allowed anywhere the vice-presidency.

  • J M Ashby

There is no hockey in my state, and Joe Sixpack around here would be too busy beating his wife or going to the liquor store so I dont think that would work out too well for Palin.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Thanks, ceu. I actually did flip out. I just waited a little while before writing.

  • http://livefreeordie08.wordpress.com LiveFreeOrDie08

KO made an offer last night to give Palin the entire hour of his show, and then the subsequent hour of Rachel’s show was tossed in as a bonus by Rachel, for Palin to make whatever direct communication she cared to make with the people.Maybe he should put up a clock like Fox did.

  • KatinWilm

Great blog, Carl. She annoys the crap out of me too.

  • J M Ashby

I really dont think the McCranky camp picking a fight with media is a smart move when you’re down 10 points in many polls.

I know the feeling, Carl. I had my flip-out moment back on Sept. 3rd. It’s cathartic, actually. :) Oh, puke. Rich Lowry…the fucking conservatives are just too cute by half, aren’t they!

  • http://livefreeordie08.wordpress.com LiveFreeOrDie08

JM that is a HOOT!!They registered the site w/in 36 hours of the announcement. I’d like someone to do some investigative journalism on that one!Katie: “Have you found that promoting yourself as a MILF has added to the value of the ticket, or impacted fundraising?”

This has nothing to do with prime time, either. I posted it at the end of the comments for the debatge blogging, but it was long after those comment threads had ended, and I want to say it again:What I want to know is, Why is government-run healthcare automatically considered to be a bad thing by these dickheads?Gov’t-run healthcare has done pretty well by McLame all his life, right? And gov’t-run healthcare insurance has done very fucking wonderful by me. I have 4th-stage esophageal cancer, and my gov’t-run health coverage (tricare) which is for, in my case, retired military folks, has never denied a single test, treatment program, medication, or anything else. they’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars on my treatment, and will probably end up spending somewhere around $100,000 or more – all without a single peep of negativity.I’m just so fucking tired of people ragging on a program that the government (at least in my case – and in the cases of many, many other vets)has managed very, very well.

    Sarah Palin – Veep Throat

  • http://livefreeordie08.wordpress.com LiveFreeOrDie08

baja – it’s because socialized medicine would crush the profit margins of the health care industries. There’s no profit in a preventative care based society.

  • bajasteve

LFoD: I can understand that response if it comes from someone or some company getting wealthy from the ridiculous prices most pay for health care, especially those without coverage. But for it to come from “the man on the street”, who doesn’t benefit from those high charges, it is simply ludicrous. What is more important to the average citizen – good health care or profits? I think it’s just one more example of people voting against their own best interests, because the fat cats have raised that spectre of “socialized medicine”! Oooo! Bad thing! The commies had socialized medicine!Well, guess what, so does Canada, England and just about all of continental Europe. Are those commie governments too?No, it’s just stupidity and overwrought emotions.

  • bajasteve

And did I mention that John McCain has benefited from that same “socialized medicine” for almost his entire life?

  • Alan4s

@bajasteve:Almost his entire life? No, I don’t think there’s any “almost” about it. He had what, maybe two years after military service before being elected? Even then I’m sure he had veterans benefits available, and I’d be astonished if he didnn’t use at least some of them.

  • dontpanic23

@Baja I’m on government coverage too, and no test goes untested (even when it’s overkill). Yet the health provider is paid maybe 10-20% of what they charge someone with “regular” insurance or none. So they are 80-90% gouging the bulk of the public and making a killing. Hospital RNs make an obscene amount of money as do doctors and everyone else (and yes, I use to be one of them–working in lab technology and making more than I should have made in a fair world). My daughter has no insurance in her job here after living in the UK and not having to sell her soul to pay off a trip to the ER. She was accidentally bitten by one of our collective dogs during a dogfight and it was deep enough to need weekend care. A glance at by a doc (with a bottle of cheap antibiotics), cleaning and a butterfly bandage by an underpaid nursing assistant and then the instruction sheet by a surly/nasty RN cost her a bill of over $800. That is obscene. Yet Joe Blow types call reform socialized like that makes it godless and communistic. What the fuck is social security? No old politicians turn that down. School bus reaching every child who needs it? Senate insurance? They don’t call them socialism like they are, but damn, something that would help every American not already helped by government coverage is fucking Socialism and therefore unacceptable? Give me a BRICK. Call it something damned different and let’s move! Go!Sheesh, I need to drink more coffee before posting. I’m getting incoherent but this just drives me nuts. And I’ve had to start using my paltry disability check to pay installments for my daughter’s hospital bill because she will lose all chance of a credit rating early in life but she doesn’t get enough hours to pay it even on installments.Hell, I’ve bared my soul and my life. Sorry guys.

  • J M Ashby

LiveFreeOrDie is correct – the sole reason republicans try to make a boogieman out of “socialized medicine” is because the healthcare industry would no longer make such ridiculous profits.I have an in-law who is a nurse and if you mention changing the healthcare system to her she gets angry and doesnt want to talk about it.Moore’s “Sicko” was a big eye opener for me sad to say.
