Junior Johnson is an old moonshine runner from the NC mountains who went on to own his own NASCAR team with drivers like Darrel Waltrip. He’s one of the elder statesmen of NASCAR, which is heavily right-wing, so having Junior break ranks is actually a pretty big deal.

I think Obama should let Dean introduce him when he makes his acceptance speech…by running down the list of states that lead him to victory, building up his energy with every name, until after reading out the last one he lets loose with his now famous “Dean Scream” Yeeeeeaaaahhh!!!!!That would bookend the decade nicely for me.
