She Is Stupid

Posted by JumpyPants

Not only did Palin wrench in the “Say it ain’t so, Joe” reference, which she clearly, as Bob pointed out, didn’t understand from an historical perspective. But then right after that she, well, just read it:

Say it ain’t so, Joe, there you go again pointing backwards again. You preferenced your whole comment with the Bush administration.

So first up, the old line from the kid to Shoeless Joe that she doesn’t get. Second, the “there you go again” line from the Reagan/Carter debates that she also doesn’t really get, and, to use one of her favorite words, blunders her way through it by restating “again”, watering down the Reagan reference and making her seem extra dumb. And THEN she throws another idiot log on the conflagration of her own stupidity: “You preferenced your whole comment…”

Preferenced?!?

She meant “prefaced,” of course, but a 7-year old could tell you that.

What’s staggering is that the transcript is rife with these malaprops, on top of the double-talk, the lies, and the semi-sensical litany of empty talking points in which nothing really gets said. And what’s more staggering is the meme that she “stopped the bleeding.”

If she were to do what she did in high school debate club, she’d be kicked out of the club. She is pathetic. Period.

There’s an awesome article at Slate where someone attempts to diagram her sentences.I agree that she showed the depth of her knowledge that is deep, and dogginit, has depth. She reminded me of an infomercial, repeating the same sentence 10 different ways for 30 minutes or so. Sad and tragic. She has not that ability to, thanks to her being part of a team of mavericks, that she’s pleased to be part of, talk to Americans without that filter that is so part of the media elite, that stops her from saying to government to just, you know, let me talk unfiltered, right to Americans that are struggling with regulation and that fear about the markets. So, yeah.

So are we going to go with box of rocks? Bag of hammers? We need a whole thread of ideas on a uniform term for just how stupid this person is to give it more strength.”Preferenced” was one of many stupid-wrong words she pulled out of her ass-dictionary. We should keep a list of them, all in one place like a hall of stupidity. This woman is running for REAL public office?

Excellent assessment of her blather–empty phrases punctuated by conjunctions and empty, hackneyed phrases. Great catch too; I totally missed that. The wordage was misinterprefied by my addled brain as “prefaced.”

The high school reference is especially apt, considering that her rhetoric is the sophomoric equivalent of a dimwitted cheerleader trying to fill up the blank space on a page with as much verbiage (verbage!) as possible. For a humorous, but painfully accurate visual depiction of the cartoonish/surreal nature of McPlain Wrong, check out the incredible artwork of Zina Saunders. Brilliant stuff.http://www.drawger.com/zinasaunders

Agreed, Nanotyrannus, but you left off one crucial point of what she, as such an executive with governatorial experience and knowledge, was trying to make, and that is “also.”

The rules don’t apply to me, be it grammar, usage punctuation…and the winking crosses a line with women. It’s flirtatious and demeaning.Jesus, she’s Bush…only worse.

Groobiecat — thanks for that link to Zina Saunders — it is incredible (AND hilarious!)

Did anyone else notice that she set Biden up for that soundbite. As they were shaking hands before the debate even started, Palin asked, “Do you mind if I call you Joe?” To which Biden replied, “that’s fine”.
