The Second Debate

This is probably the funniest debate sketch since 1992. The Ayers thing is totally crowbarred into the sketch, but other than that, it’s laugh out loud funny.

cool… thursday SNL. I forgot about that. They seriously do need a new Obama impersonator. The curreny version is not funny, boring, like watching paint dry. Let Tina do it.

building on Bob’s brilliant “Fake Balance” post on HuffPo.http://mediamatters.org/items/200810100015?f=h_topFunny thing about Media Matters is the BBQ media, and especially right wingers call them left wing, but they literally go after everyone–a day does not go by when they do not attack the NYT, WaPo, NBC, ABC, CBS–the supposed “liberal media.”They also have a great section on Tweety–who IMO is BBQ to the bone (sure he has his moments, but usually when that is which way the wind is blwoing on that day–or segment). Anyway, a good read. But what pisses me off is that the right wing continues to get a two-fer because they benefit from all the fake balance while at the same time they are able to claim conventional wisdom states that the media are “in the tank” for Obama and the Dems.

One day SNL will stop trying to “play both sides” by fabricating knocks on the Left. Probably after Lorne is dead.

As the kids say, “keepin’ it real, this one didn’t do it for me, dawg.”I agree that they need to add a cast member that can do Obama. Maybe even an honest to goodness black man. SNL could turn it into a running reality show audition thing. Run 4-5 short skits a night (15-30 sec quickies) to give face time to various contenders. Intersperse it with goofs like Christopher Walken auditioning for the part (a la Star Wars), William Shatner, Martin Sheen, Eddie Murphy as Buckwheat, and then Obama himself as a cameo that gets him canned because even though he speaks inspirationally to the producers, he can’t read the teleprompter for sh*t, or something.Honestly, other than Tina Fey it doesn’t look like they’re really trying that hard…and Tina has Palin doing her writing for her.
