Three Grand For Obama – Update

Unlike John McCain’s debate performance, yesterday’s fundraising drive for the Obama campaign was a massive success. Not only did we top our original $1000 goal in the first three hours, but we broke $3000 with time to spare before the debate. In less than 24 hours we’ve bundled $3450 for the campaign.

Clearly, judging by my original $1000 goal, I vastly underestimated the generosity of our community here.

So I’m obviously going to keep the fundraising drive going through election day. Post your suggestions for short-term goals and, ultimately, the goal for election day in the comments and we’ll set up more fundraising blitzes as we go along.

    This is really heartening. I’ve given so much in the last week–including cash donations to the local office so they can buy stuff they need. That’s a great option too!

    @cminri – let’s hope not! I’m assuming you’re asking me – and no, I was just throwing that # out more symbolically as a # to work toward until election day – i.e., $12,000 = 1/20 = inauguration day date…how about $12009? I’ve had coffee now…that might make more sense.

    The only donations we might need if Obama DOESN’T win are to go towards plane fare to another country for all of us!
