God Wants Position Flexible

Sarah Palin is waiting for God’s go-ahead to run for president:

“I’m like, OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, I’m like, don’t let me miss the open door … And if there is an open door in ’12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I’ll plow through that door.”

And I’m like, please do! Maybe God can be her “debate prepper” and finance her wardrobe next time.

God must be busy, what with all the commands he got from the right during the election: He wanted McCain to win, He wanted Palin there to help him win, there was the request for rain during Barack’s speech at the DNC, et al. Did any of those wishes come true?

If God wanted her to win, why would she need debate prep?(I’m going to hell…)

Actually, I think if God had to pick, he would want position missionary.(It’s been killing me…)

I can’t decide which is more painful: listening to Palin speak or reading a transcript. Your eyes or ears are going to ache while, either way, your brain begins to pound and swell trying to arrange the words in their correct order and make some sort of sense of the whole thing.I understand why the GOP adores her – another W-like blank slate that can be controlled. But I have no idea what voters get out of her. If it’s because “she’s just like me!” then we have lots more work to do.

And God’s, like…WTF????Time to melt some more glaciers.

(Sigh) It’s Pat Robertson & the hurricane all over again.I suppose I should stop complaining about her and actually hope that she gets the nomination, because it would make 2012 a cakewalk, but I guess I’m just paranoid that people would actually be dumb enough to fall for the “Flirt flirt flirt, & fake it ’till ya make it, you betcha!” act.

Sorry Sarah but god is too busy helping football players win games to care about you running for president.

She won’t get the nom; the other republicans will destroy her in the primary.

Of course I thought that about w in 2000. But the power brokers of the party wanted him for the same reasons they like sarah: dumber than a box of rocks, overly self-confident, and – like LDH says above – easily manipulated (pronounced nipple-ated of course like w would).

    Therefore, again. Also.

I don’t get this corny “Gahd” deity that Sarah keeps babbling about. I see no relationship at all to the Biblical God that sincere Christians worship.Remember that schmuck who said that “Gahd” should help McCain win if “He” cares about “His” reputation? How Hindus, Buddhists and Muslims will think that their “false” idols are superior if Obama wins?Well, their “Gahd” lost, and “Gahd” won’t help Sarah in 2012 either.I pray that this type of smarmy, ridiculous religion is going to become less of a political factor in the years ahead. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

This reminds me of what Jesse Ventura said to Larry King when asked if he was going to run for president.”And so I will tell you now, I am not going to run at this moment. But if between now and 5:00 maybe God comes and speaks to me like he did the president, and tells me I should run, like he apparently told the president to invade Iraq, well, then maybe at 5:00 tomorrow, Larry, don’t call me a liar, just understand God sent me to file.”Hilarity.

There’s more of that “Alaska first” shit that was one of the first things to pop out of her mouth on her “day one”–what I can do for Alaska, like Country First was a little joke:”if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation…”–in that order.

Dobson and his ilk prayed that God’s will be done on election day. Well, obviously, God wanted Obama to be president, so now they have to respect that.

As Keith Olberman said, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
