I just wanted to congratulate all the North Carolinians here at the GDAB for bringing your state in for the big O! You guys rock!

Has anyone been following some of the weirdness going on with the Georgia vote count? Sounds like a lot of the early vote isn’t being counted. Could Obama have won Georgia too?

I can’t decide if it is completely unbelievable or a great big DUH that it took a black man to reclaim NC for the Dems. We have a struggling economy, a large African-American population, a Democratic-controlled state government, progressive-leaning areas like Raleigh and Chapel Hill, and a shitload of racists. This morning, my father was carrying on about how “the n*ggers thought they had it made before.” Must remember to ask him if he’s glad his 3 children didn’t grow up with the same prejudices he did. It’s still shocking to me that there are areas in this country, in the 21st century, where complete strangers are comfortable throwing around that kind of language in front of each other. I still can’t believe it: I live in a blue county in a blue state. The most purplish of the blue states this year, but a blue state nonetheless.

WOOOO HOOOOOO. I picked today to start keeping the tv off and read. I’m getting all my info from you, Bob, and you couldn’t have handed me a better one than that. MY STATE IS FINALLY BLUE! Thank you.I just wish I lived in some of that blue territory.

And how did I miss this until now–just got an email from FreePress.net that the FCC is going to open the “white spaces” to expand broadband to remote and poor areas:http://www.savetheinternet.com/

Thank God. I mean, QT put all that work into a beautiful crown for us. I was gonna feel really guilty if we didn’t pull it off. GO NC!!And my county wasn’t blue either, DP. But my bestest friend lives in Watauga County, so I’m claiming her.

[Long time reader, first time commenter.]I’m so proud of my adopted home state for going blue! My particular county didn’t, and my town didn’t, and well… my district didn’t either, but my friends in other parts of the state made up for my neighbors!
