Nobody Anticipated the Breach…

Krugman:

A few months ago I found myself at a meeting of economists and finance officials, discussing — what else? — the crisis. There was a lot of soul-searching going on. One senior policy maker asked, “Why didn’t we see this coming?”

There was, of course, only one thing to say in reply, so I said it: “What do you mean ‘we,’ white man?”

Another wise man who predicted this was Thom Hartmann, though he hasn’t been given proper credit for it. When I first signed up for satellite radio in January of 2006 and began to listen to Hartmann’s show, he was all over this issue.

I’ve been following Hartmann for about the same amount of time, and he’s been spot on.If only more people had listened…

Just reading Naomi Klein’s piece in Rolling Stone about the bailout, and… GOD DAMMMMMMMIT!? ARGH!!! AND OTHER ANGRY NOISES!?!?!?No strings, conflicts of interest everywhere, citibank looking to use their “OMG we’re gonna die without cash” cash to EXPAND? January 20th cannot come fast enough for me, and there had better be a whole lot of oversight once Obama’s in office or we’re all fucked. Correction, more fucked. Oh and add Hank Paulson to my list of Bush administration fucktards for whom I’m wishing a fittingly horrible end.

It’s not just about the people who predicted it. It’s about the people who laughed and snickered at them, like here…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I0QN-FYkpw
