reposting from the AZ thread:O/T (sorry) but..Just learning on Tweety’s show that Georgia has a 50% threshold requirement for senate seats. The R is currently 3 points ahead, but only to 47% overall. If it goes to a run-off the R will likely take it due to lower voter turn out. So, if you’re in GEORGIA or know anybody there, please urge them to get the D (Martin) over the top. As I see it, we have one chance to pour out an overwhelming tide of voters…let’s wash Chambliss back under the belly of the sea slug from where he came!

  • XRugly

If this is really a weekend election thread then the Number one story has got to be the Sarah Palin Prank call…I don’t know where Bob is, must be napping cuz this is huge and funny and horrible all at once.any way here is the link… go listen to this… The woman has shit for brains, runny shit, and they want her to be VP….Heres your link… you won’t believe it, I didn’t, i had to look around the web before i would believe it… now go listen…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4aHL12vtEM

  • http://livefreeordie08.wordpress.com LiveFreeOrDie08

Somebody call Miss South Carolina. Tweety needs a map!“Do you count Trinidadians as Latinos?”He’s falling all over himself trying not to be perceived as condescending to the women on the panel…but he’s just looking bafoonish as a result.

  • J M Ashby

I am ammused by the following:Palin prank callCheney endorsing McCainBoehner: “obama is chicken shit” coming from mister “pelosi’s speech hurt our feelings so we voted no”

  • http://livefreeordie08.wordpress.com LiveFreeOrDie08

WHOA!News from Jill Zuckerman covering McCain’s campaign. Word is that they feel if they can bring states to within the margin of error, they can win them.Hmmm. Interesting demarcation. Wonder if they know something about how the vote counting machines are programmed?

  • J M Ashby

That prank call to Palin is… uh yeah… I just can’t describe it.He doesn’t even sound authentic at all.She sounds like an airheaded ditzy highschool girl.

  • XRugly

that prank call just won’t be funny to me until after the election and she loses. Up until then I have this cold clammy feeling of panic setting in, my ass is clenched and a cool drip of sweat is running…what are we going to do if they win?I’m an athiest but this is starting to look like a foxhole to me.

  • J M Ashby

Zero McCain or McCain-Palin signs at a rally today for Palin?http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/11/01/mccains-name-nowhere-to-be-seen-at-palin-rally/Just Palin signs, no McCain signs.

  • Pfing2

OK -Will someone PLEASE TALK ME OFF THE LEDGE?!!This Tim McClellan bullshit from HuffPost is SICK:The most surprising statement was something we’ve been hearing from McCain supporters but not from anyone actually on the McCain or RNC payroll. “I have strong concerns that Obama is not a citizen. I suspect the U.S. Supreme Court will prove that Obama’s not a citizen,” Tim continued. “Did he go to Indonesia and become an Indonesian citizen, and if so, did he take steps to regain his (U.S.) citizenship? There’s no seal on his birth certificate and the font is wrong.”Where is this going?????

  • http://www.osborneink.com Matt Osborne

@Pfing2: McClellan is trying to feed the new wingnut narrative in preparation for the debacle coming Tuesday. The election will only redouble this kind of rumormongering. They’ll spend the next four years telling everyone that Obama’s middle name is really Nicolae Carpathia.

  • ceu

Law suits on this subject have already been tossed out because they are patently ridiculous.

  • Pfing2

Thanks Matt -Is anyone else hacked off that McCain gets the last spot on SNL tonight? His campaign is throwing every possible kind of monkeyshit on the wall today & grampy gets the laughs tonight? Please pray that Ben Affleck goes OFF SCRIPT tonight & tells him to go F#*k himself!Holocaust? Rezko? Khalidi? Birth Certificate? Aunt Who?Rev. Wright? aaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggggghhhhhhh!

  • PackyJ

Pfin2: I hear this kind of crap even now, from some of the hoopleheads where I work. I’ve given up arguing with them, it’s like trying to teach a pig to sing:All you do is waste your time, and annoy the pig. It’s another of the “he’s a secrit Ayrab” type tactics that have been thoroughly debunked, and is only believed by assholes who were never voting for “that colored fella” anyway.Any person capable of rational thought knows it’s nothing more than sweaty desperation. In my heart, I believe it will have no impact that it hasn’t had already. That dog simply won’t hunt.

  • J M Ashby

Pfing, I really do not think anyone takes any of that shit seriously anymore. The only people who do, are the ones voting for McCain already anyway.McCain cannot win with just his base, so the constant attacks that ONLY appeal to his base are ineffective.

  • Pfing2

    I know – I know…..but jezuzchristalmighty already?

  • ceu

Just stick with us, Pfing. We don’t let people go out on the ledge. :)

  • Pfing2

Bam in Cincy tomorrow!Front row spot & a “Breaking News” intervention is all I need!

  • dontpanic23

Bob was on the ball. The prank was up this afternoon. You guys been napping? Paddy first posted a link at Carnival then Bob put in the feed. So nyah. (Maybe it was me that needed the nap).

  • J M Ashby

/wave to DPI actaully didn’t see Bob’s post on that myself either, but I was busy all day today and not home.

  • dontpanic23

/wave back…now here’s KO. I think it’s a best of kind of thing. Or worst of, depending on your depends.

  • J M Ashby

    Depending on your depends haha

  • cminri

Sniff…watching Countdown….just realized how much I miss Tim Russert.

  • dontpanic23

Me too, cminri. He should be here for this. But I like being one of those delusional Obama voters. I’d forgotten that line. I hope this doesn’t get me mad at Clinton again. I think I peaked out following PA and had a hissy-rant on my Live Journal that I had to hide and eventually DXed.There’s Kay Hagan stuffing it up Dole’s ass on my local.

  • dontpanic23

Oh I loved that “terrorist fist jab” as it happened. It was made of awesome. This is killer. I had put the primary behind me with all the other shit we’ve faced. Now it’s almost fun.

  • cminri

DP – its still not fun for me. I am realizing how much we’ve all been through these long 21 months. Ask me again Wednesday….

  • dontpanic23

Anybody remember this jewel? I just dredged it up from that old LJ stuff, post-primary:McCain Women’s Clinichttp://therealmccain.co/clinic.php?utm_source=clinic

  • http://www.clusterdouche.com Elvis Dingeldein

Yeah, Cim, that startled me, too. Just saw his big pouchy weary-eyed face next to KO’s enormous melon and I got a lump in my throat.I was fortunate enough to be in DC the day Tim died and made a pilgrimage a few days later to the Newseum, where they had numerous tributes and a memorial video playing an endless loop on the JumboTron in the main atrium. It was really something. I spent the entire day there, paying homage to Tim’s memory by cramming as much News History into my tiny membrane as would fit. It’s really a spectacular museum, don’t miss it if you ever vacation in DC.

  • dontpanic23

Yeah, some of it’s a little raw still. But now that I know how it goes (up to today, anyway), it’s not as difficult as it was in real time.

  • dontpanic23

Oh, Elvis, I wish I’d been there that day. I cried. I don’t usually cry over famous peoples dying, but Tim turned me into a baby.

  • dontpanic23

I wore out my teardrops when John Lennon was assassinated. That took me months to recover from.

  • cminri

I was totally unprepared for how much Tim’s death would affect me. I didnt realize the depth of my feelings towards him until it was too late.

  • cminri

Republican Convention on….why am I suddenly feeling ill??

  • dontpanic23

Now I’m throwing my finger up at the tv. We’re getting to real time.

  • dontpanic23

Cminri, that’s one of those circular sentences.

  • dontpanic23

Let’s try that link again:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arw-yNas2xc&eurl=http://therealmccain.com/clinic.php?utm_source=clinicmaybe this one will work. it’s a scary giggle.

  • dontpanic23

    Oh God Charley STOP HER!

  • cminri

My worst nightmare – both Hannity AND Palin at the same time!

  • GItheJOE

I am finally on Bob’s site and just pissed my pants.

  • dontpanic23

Did we say something that would make one piss his or her pants?

  • cminri

Elvis does that to me quite often DP (makes me ALMOST pee my pants).

  • ceu

Was it the pink baseball cap, Joe? Or the awesome mouse pad? :)

  • dontpanic23

Well sure, Elvis can sometimes have that effect. But we were just crying over Russert and such.

  • cminri

This election has had the effect on me – Im up one minute..and down the next – where the hell are my meds?!??!oh..and screw TypeKey.

  • dontpanic23

It’s a viagra kind of ere–election.I keep a supply of my meds in each room, hidden from dogs and young people.

  • J M Ashby

I was in Florida when it happened but I loved it when Olbermann picked up the mic and mocked McCain’s standup at the smith dinner.

  • dontpanic23

GItheJoe? You aren’t going to explain? Leave us hanging like this? Even Elvis was being nice.

  • dontpanic23

JM, your vacation seems so long ago. But it couldn’t have been more than a couple of weeks. Time is bending lately.

  • dontpanic23

Hey, tomorrow the clock on here will only be off 10 minutes instead of an hour and ten.G’night all, and don’t forget to Fall Back. Somebody let me know if the piss-and-run mystery is solved. Joe, I hope you are okay.

  • ceu

BTW, in case you’re unaware of it, Bush has been busy signing new regulations (for the regulatory agencies), which will carry the force of law and, the time line being what it is, the new president will not be able to do much about by the time he’s sworn in. Getting his last kicks in while the country is still down.As many as 90 new regulations are in the works, and at least nine of them are considered “economically significant” because they impose costs or promote societal benefits that exceed $100 million annually. They include new rules governing employees who take family- and medical-related leaves, new standards for preventing or containing oil spills, and a simplified process for settling real estate transactions. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/10/30/AR2008103004749.html?hpid=topnewsThis is a must-at-least-skim article.

Sad news. Sen. Durban’s daughter has passed away at 40. Condolences to the Durban family and all who knew her.http://www.politico.com/blogs/thecrypt/1108/Durbins_daughter_dies_of_heart_disease.html#comments

  • http://livefreeordie08.wordpress.com LiveFreeOrDie08

    correction: Durbin (my confusion)

  • The Colonel

Watching SNL weekend update. I’ll admit … McCain does have good comedic timing. Did anyone see the first skit or the Countdown spoof?

  • GItheJOE

dontpanic23 sorry i went to another post by Bob. you will have to forgive my ignorance this i my first time blogging and it kind of reminds me of my first doing a lot of things. So I imagine I will get better the more I do it or that is at least what my partners keep telling me. yes I am a veteran and I thought GI the Joe would be funny and I know all of you would burn my house down for the “the’ comment. Don’t worry I hate that shit as much as you do. Anyway you guys are dead on with you analysis of almost everything. I got interviewed by Rebecca Traister from salon.com yesterday and I will post my interview after the election because I was in my uniform and I could lose everything for doing what I did. However, with and President Barack Obama Elect I feel I can get away with it. Talk to you tomorrow. Bob, you got an email from my Brother at thesuperficial.com and he said you told him to salute me. No need my brother is the only family that isn’t sucking Palin’s Alaskan dick. Plus, your brother needs to talk to someone. I dont care if you give him my number I will go drinking with him shooting with him chasing girls with him anything to get that evil shit out of him. I know what her is going through and you have to let that shit out. I have to many buddies that have survived that shit hole and come home and killed themselves and that is to fucking horrible to go through he has to talk to somebody and Vets never leave a fallen comrade it is our Code our Ethos. Tell him I am proud of his service and Joe Biden Promised me that it is over and if he breaks his word I will make sure the whole world knows he lied to me and I mean the whole world. You are my hero Bob and never stop.

  • dontpanic23

@GI the Joe, don’t worry, we were having fun with your post because it was so bizarre out of the blue like that, but you obviously weren’t a troll because you said you “finally found Bob’s site”–not too hostile a way to pop in. We were just amused at your pissed-my-pants remark, something any one of us has said a some given time, but with no followup. It gave us food for snark but not in the mean sense. I later saw you posting the dorknozzle question and couldn’t remember who it was until this morning–it was my dumb governor, democrat though he may be. (I hated voting for the next democrat too, Perdue, but I had to. I hate her commercials and don’t think I would like her personally but probably would the other guy–the one with an R behind his name and I’ve broken ranks on governors in the past but now with the talk of redistricting to skew the house, DeLay style, I can’t do that). You did wonderfully in your first post! You made a bang on a slow night. I loved it. And we didn’t pick at your remark at your expense–I hope you didn’t take it that way–we were just confused in our Mighty Awesome Cescan kinda way. We aren’t ruthless–well, most of us aren’t–but we do like to have fun.Great for you on the Salon interview *shhhhh* and taking a chance. It’s interesting having someone come in who is really in the thick of Bush’s and Cheney’s shit. (Watch out talking about it on a static IP–they still have a few months left to inflict damage–trust no one and all that, or maybe it’s don’t look back, something might be coming after you, no that’s my fearful philosophy). Do link your interview when it happens, okay Joe? And thanks for all you are being put through and for speaking out.

  • dontpanic23

And @Ceu–in the words of Sarah Palin that she stole from Ronald Reagan: There you go again. Snarkity snark snark sarcasm wit snark SLAP. Reality. Depressing read, but necessary. And it figures. The Bushies learned from what they did to Clinton.

  • dontpanic23

@LFOD – Ah man, I can’t imagine what Sen. Durbin is going through but my thoughts are with him.
