Speaking of spazzy white guys, I hope everyone has seen Nate Silver’s interview with John Ziegler – he conducted interviews with a grand total of 12 people, did some phone polls through Zogby, and then decided Obama supporters were idiots who were conned by the media. HuffPo posted it today, and it was on Nate’s website. It’s fucking awesome and we really should make Nate an honorary member of the GDAB. I totally have a crush on him now too.Towards the end of the interview is my favorite exchange:http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2008/11/interview-with-john-ziegler-on-zogby.html

  • jane

Kat, that Zeigler guy = tool. Heh.

  • PackyJ

I read the transcript. I came to two conclusions:1. MSNBC should consider letting Nate Silver host when KO or Rachel want to take a day off.2. Nate should interview Rush Limbaugh. Rush’s anal cyst would explode. It would be first-class comedy.

  • gypsysoul111

i saw the nate interview….really funny!as i said on huffpo…nate’s demeanor is the type that pisses people off most. most (ziegler) want to fight with fists flying and sweat flinging and nate’s cool collected nature fighting them with fact based words makes them lose it!i love him but at times wonder if he is even human!

  • jane

P.S. Who are all these people that buy watches and Viagra from an unsolicited email?I buy anonymously from the guy on the corner.

  • dontpanic23

You mean I shouldn’t be ordering the acai berry to cleanse my colon? Jane, you aren’t in the running for the Nigerian fortune? No larger penis for you?

  • jane

    Heh.

  • dontpanic23

Pinhead? He called Nate Silver a pinhead?

  • KatinWilm

Jane doesn’t need a larger penis. She’s got Viagra, baby.

  • KatinWilm

DP – Pinhead, hack AND told him to go fuck himself – twice! I love how Nate still thanked him at the end. Cool as a damn cucumber.Packy – you are totally right on both counts.

  • dontpanic23

And cats taped to her body. Major aphrodisiac in some circles.

  • KatinWilm

In addition, I am sure Ziegler is well acquainted with heads the size of pins – heads of all varieties.

There should be a place in Obamaland for Nate. He’s a freakin’ genius. He should have an office in charge of oversight of anything statistically based like healthcare or insurance. He would eviscerate the fluffed up numbers.

  • kansasdem

Jane,I think Elvis learned his lesson! It’s time to put the ball-gag back in the dishwasher!

  • dontpanic23

Whoa, he did tell him to go fuck himself. When he could only name one SC senator. What a douche.

  • NoSheeple

This just in… Missouri has been called for John McCain. The difference was less than 4,000 votes. I’m deeply ashamed of my state and the giant swath of HeeHaw rejects that inhabit the areas between St. Louis & Kansas City.

  • jane

I think I’ll keep Elvis, um, tied up for a while longer.

  • ceu

I believe that whether we give $$ to the auto industry or the companies file for bankruptcy doesn’t much matter. In the end the union will be forced to renegotiate the contracts, costing them health & other insurance coverage and giving them reduced wages (25-33%), there will still be heavy layoffs, management will stay as is – still earning obscene salaries, the board members will not change, and in 6 months there will be another request for gov’t aid. The industry needs a radical shake-up and I don’t think that Congress will have the backbone to attach the needed strings.

  • kansasdem

Jane,Just make sure he’s getting plenty of fluids!

  • jane

I’d like to wipe that smirk off Michele Bachmann’s face with Matthews’ spittle hankie.

  • kansasdem

Ya’ know this auto “bailout” requires “cool” thinking! And Obama is “cool” as they come!On a personal note I operated my own small business from 1985 thru 1991 and the bankruptcy filing by two of my largest customers took me down the toilet too! Then I filed and brought down three more! I’ll grant you that I never had a jet but I did have quite a bit of stuff! One of the guys upstream from me actually did have a twin engine airplane. So what? What happened is that the Quaker Oats Co. incorporated more land into a huge conglomerate and more plain folks found themselves working for ‘deflated” wages!Oh and it was a “right to work” state, so no worker had shit for rights! It’s time to restore America! Our auto manufacturers have not been able to play on a level playing field for a couple of decades!

O/T: This is cute: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andy-borowitz/obamas-use-of-complete-se_b_144642.htmlI still owe jane a reply from yesterday. It’s coming, promise!QT

  • PackyJ

In case anyone is interested, Ted Stevens conceded to Mark Begich today. It was a fairly gracious concession statement.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Yo!Yo!Yo! What up beotches! Jane, what have you done with Elvis? Is it a “Barefoot In The Park” thing or a “Misery” thing?

  • ceu

We care, Packy. Congratulations!I’m having a tough time believing “gracious”, tho, but will take your word for it. :)

  • PackyJ

Ceu: Well, he didn’t call Begich an asshole or anything.

  • jane

Carl, more like a Pulp Fiction thing. Or maybe I was just tired of his wriggling.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Jane – Ah, so a ball gag and going medieval on his ass? Sweet.

  • jane

QT- I liked the Huffpo link. Reminded me to check the Onion: Better than the Sunday round table shows.http://www.theonion.com/content/video/in_the_know_should_the_governmentThe Onion: Should the government stop dumping money into a giant hole?

  • PackyJ

QT: Andy Borowitz is a very funny guy, and that was one of his best.

  • cminri

FYI – Michael Moore on Larry King now.

  • ceu

and The Eye is subbing for Rachel. [what is that thing around her neck?]Coleman ahead of Franken in the eary recount numbers.

  • cminri

I dont think Rachel and Keith should be allowed to be on vacation at the same time.

  • PackyJ

cminri – I agree.Withdrawal syndrome problem for me.

  • jane

CM, while I like Michael Moore, I just can’t take seeing him on the teevee. With all the footage of himself (that he has surely seen), he has never learned how annoying the “ahhhh, ahhhh” thing is when it comes out every other word.

  • ceu

It’s like when Dan Rather took over for Walter Cronkite. The news was still the news, but it wasn’t the same…

  • jane

Oh, the bartender in the hotel at the Boat thing I worked last week used to sit next to the Fitzer hooker in History class in college.I asked if she smelled nice. Apparently yes.

  • cminri

Jane..i dont even notice that he does that! I guess I’m just used to it.

  • ceu

And whatever happened to that ship that was captured by pirates that was filled with weapons a while back? Do the pirates still have it or did they ransom it or what?

  • jane

    Fitzer? No. Spitzer.(You brought her.)

  • jane

    Happy toilet day, yall.

  • cminri

The toilet at work celebrated its special day by getting all clogged up and stanking up the joint! Good times were had be all.

  • Alan4s

@CEU: I think that ship is still in the pirates hands, but is being closely “watched” by others.

hey all, I’m sure everyone’s gone to bed by now, but I have to get this out of my head so I’m writing just for therapy’s sake.Just saw The Changeling tonight, somewhat by accident. I have to tell all of you that it’s the best movie ever made. No boast, just a fact. There are moments in this movie when you will face your worst fears, and it will scare the daylights out of you because the movie stops being just something on screen and starts being a story that you feel personally compelled to resolve. Especially if you have children.Warning, this isn’t casual night out. It’s been over an hour since I left the theater and it’s still haunting my every thought. An awful, horrible story, but one that all should experience. This isn’t one to wait for the DVD, btw.The reason I want to post about the movie here is that the first half of the movie is a near perfect primer on understanding the mechanics of institutionalized corruption. I found myself thinking about all that’s happened with BushCo. over the last 8 years and how close the parallels were to this true story that happened 80 years ago. Different circumstances, same sick fuckers.I don’t want to spoil the movie for anyone, but once people see it I’d like to discuss some of the themes and content here. I think it lends itself to our brand of thoughtful introspection…and I know I’m going to need a therapy group to get back to functional. It’s really done a number on me.Academy Award for Best Picture, guaranteed.

I just got this off HuffPost. Michelle Bachmann and Hannity discussing President Obama’s ( OK,sic, but I’m tired of waiting for the inauguration )cabinet selections.:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/11/19/bachmann-trashes-obama-ca_n_144917.htmlI was going to post this comment there, just so I could feel better, knowing it would be instantly scrubbed. Then I remembered I could post it here :Michelle Bachmann is like a fly. She eats shit and annoys people.

  • dontpanic23

I missed national toilet day at Cesca’s open? Shoot me.Jane, you have Elvis on your own pirate ship, don’t you? And Ashby is helping you keep him “detained”?

  • prcleburne

Addendum : I just realized that Bachmann rhymes with Eichmann. As in Adolph. Fellow fascists.
