Suze Orman

Suze Orman, the razor-toothed financial guru is on the Morning Joe right now. Am I the only one who finds Orman remarkably offensive? Every time she’s on TV, I feel like I’m being shamed and badgered — and no matter what I do, I’m just being a big doof with my money.

Put another way: do you have your eight month emergency fund yet?!

Do you?! DO YOU??!!!

    I’d like to just drop her into my life, my home, with my present resources, financial picture and add the family pressure, the elder care, the guardianship and court mandates, etc… and just watch my life kick her I’m better than you ass.

    I will say this for her, she had her “people” post on her website all the documentation necessary to file a will and deeds in trust – the same docs she paid her lawyers to create for her. She gives them away free. I used them to make sure what little I still have goes to my family vs. letting the state decide. Yea, she can be tough to watch, but what she says is worth listening to most of the time. Depressing when you can’t follow through, but it’s not complete crap like Dr. Laura, say.btw, peoplefirst is the password for the stuff if you care.

    LFOD – My major criticism of her is style, not substance. I think she probably knows what she’s talking about, but she’s still a nagging, bug-eyed bitch.

    @PJI have a thing about when people bash other people for shallow, physical reasons. Content of character is fair game (i.e. Lieberschmuck), but bug-eyes, fat jokes, and the like are just cruel and insensitive and unhelpful, imo.

    She doesn’t seem to understand that in order to save money you actually have to HAVE some, instead of it all going to groceries, preschool tuition, the mortgage, etc. It’s not like the lack of savings is some huge, irresponsible oversignt (and no, Suze, I’m not spending $5 a day at Starbucks like you seem to think everyone is…)
